Storyline

This is the chat summary of Story chat tab as of Dec 13, 2009. The additions and dates are listed below.

Wahim: Names like SunnyOne, McArine, TheMazeEcho.
Wahim: Names like Greenish, Hatnofret, Nissim and Orchid - many of their descendants are with us today.
Wahim: Egypt, know your past with The Test of Hexaglyphs!
Wahim: ---
Wahim: Today I come with a message for Egypt's Leaders.
Wahim: I have studied the Monument built by Leaders of a past age, and have deciphered their challenge.
Wahim: You will be assigned to groups of seven, and will examine the dilemma faced by pirates of perhaps that bygone age: how does one distribute a treasure, when those receiving it have the power to mutiny and confiscate yours?
Wahim: Leaders, show your skills with The Test of the Retired Pirates!
Wahim: ---
Wahim: Disciples of Worship, you know cooperation, but are you up to a challenge in seven parts?
Wahim: That is the number of gods that must be satisfied, in order to pass my next Test.
Wahim: Can you complete the Test of Festivals, and unlock my Manifesto of the Journeyman?
Wahim: ---
Wahim: Disciples of Worship, prepare for your third Test.
Wahim: From time to time, the gods will send an altar to those who have performed their favored activity in the last week.
Wahim: Activities are everyday tasks, perhaps feeding sheep, or fishing.
Wahim: The difficulty lies in the fact that there are dozens of such activities, and there is no straightforward way to determine what this week's activity is.
Wahim: Disciples of Worship, please the Gods by completing the Test of Beacons!
Wahim: ---
Wahim: Disciples of Art and Music, can you find beauty in our land?
Wahim: In our fields?
Wahim: In our mountains and our gently rolling hills?
Wahim: My next challenge is for you, and it must be petitioned by one who calls a mountaintop home.
Wahim: Disciples of Art and Music, the terrain is your canvas in the Test of Flight!
Wahim: ---
Wahim: Leaders of Egypt, what sort of fortitude have you?
Wahim: My next challenge is one of my most fascinating, at least from where I sit.
Wahim: You will be split into groups of twelve, and in a series of contests and votes, eliminate fellow members of your group.
Wahim: Survive to the final four in both Level-1 and Level-2 contests to pass the Test that I consider my masterpiece:
Wahim: The Test of the Covered Cartouche!
Wahim: ---
Wahim: Disciples of Thought:
Wahim: Gaze at the nighttime sky - what do you see?
Wahim: In my next challenge you will arrange the stars themselves, on a specially constructed canvas, and invite others to extinguish your array of stars.
Wahim: Exercise the will of a God in the Test of the Constellation!
Wahim: ---
Wahim: Disciples of Harmony, you more than any other Discipline should know the people of Egypt.
Wahim: My previous Tests have asked you to prove that you become a critic of the Arts...
Wahim: That you reason about the puzzles created by disciples of Though...
Wahim: That you know who will succeed in my other Tests...
Wahim: And know which one mate will both succeed and remain loyal.
Wahim: In my next challenge, you must know the political will of the land.
Wahim: Accurately predict the outcome of law ballots, to pass The Test of the Freeman!
Wahim: ---
Wahim: Disciples of Worship, I have a new way to test your cooperation.
Wahim: I have studied inscriptions on the Adn monument of Worship, and worked with priests at Egypt's great Universities of Worship.
Wahim: In my next challenge, you will form into groups of 7 at the various monuments.
Wahim: The order of monuments is directed by the gods themselves, but the groups are up to you.
Wahim: Advance as a Priest as you complete the Test of Remembrance Ceremonies!

New Storyline on Dec 14, 2009:
Wahim: ---
Wahim: My recent studies of the inscriptions on the Adn monument of Worship were most enlightening.
Wahim: It seems that generations past had a deep understanding of Worship.
Wahim: And so I turned my attention to other ancient writings.
Wahim: The Discipline of Harmony, though considered by some scholars to be a "modern" discipline, is challenging because mastering it requires that you understand your fellow Egyptian.
Wahim: The challenge inscribed distills that notion:
Wahim: If you were asked to sacrifice a single item, winning points based on how few others sacrificed the same, which item would you pick?
Wahim: If you were allowed to sacrifice a wide variety of items, winning points for any that were sacrificed by few others, then which would you pick?
Wahim: Disciples of Harmony, know your fellow Egyptians by the Balance of Goods!

New Storyline on Jan 1, 2010:
Wahim: ---
Wahim: My recent travels have brought me to Sinai, where I have studied inscriptions on the Monument of the Human Body.
Wahim: Our ancestors theorized that it may be possible to make permanent markings on our bodies, though never developed the tools or knowledge to do so.
Wahim: But their challenge was interesting, and the Scientists at the Great Universities of the Human body have conducted experiments proving that given a correct set of pigments, this can be done.
Wahim: Your challenge is to assemble pigments for 7 such markings.
Wahim: Disciples of the Human Body, adorn yourselves with The Test of the Ritual Tattoo!

New Storyline on Jan 2, 2010:
Wahim: --
Wahim: A true leader can motivate others.
Wahim: Leaders of Egypt, your next challenge is this:
Wahim: Grow the noble Cocoa plant.
Wahim: It is a fragile crop, one which requires frequent tending, and one with an unusual propagation method.
Wahim: Leaders, expand your crops as you expand your circle of friends in the Test of the Plantation!

New Storyline on Jan 30, 2010:
Wahim: ---
Wahim: I have noticed the blight caused by vegetable fertilizer, and I come to you with a cure, should you accept it.
Wahim: This is not my invention, but one that scientists at our Great Universities of Harmony have know about for a while, yet have been reluctant to release.
Wahim: Unfortunately, they don't share my sense of "curiosity", and insist on a vote to release such "controversial" research.
Wahim: So we shall have a vote.
Wahim: This new technology will consist of an Aqueduct upgrade and special beacons that quickly clean up pollution caused by fertilizer in specific areas; both will keep such areas clean.
Wahim: As a little bonus, land around the cleanup beacons becomes privately owned by the beacon owner, and only those with permission (by guild, public/private) can build in the area.
Wahim: Each Egyptian will be given two such beacons.
Wahim: Look for my law on the next ballot.
Wahim: ---

New Storyline on Mar 14, 2010:

Wahim: Disciples of the Human Body: Are you ready for your penultimate challenge?
Wahim: Search the waters of Egypt - our lakes, rivers and seas - for rare oysters and the valuable pearls contained therein.
Wahim: To demonstrate that you are ready for this Test, simply locate one of each of the seven known colors of pearl.
Wahim: Disciples of the Human Body, push yourself with The Test of the Oyster Catcher!
Wahim: ---
