My thoughts on DP:

I wont list stuff I've done for the community, because I don't think this should be a competion about who can help the most, or who is the most popular. It should be about attitude towards the DP position, and it's usage.

I think a DP should be used by Egypt as an intermediary in disputes, and as a person that upholds an atmosphere where we can all participate in the game.

I think that a ban should only be used as a last resort, when dealing with players that cheat, lie or is harrassing others. And I think that it should be used.

I've seen ppl argue that a ban should only be used when the DPs agree. I don't believe this to be in the spirit of the game. A ban is a part of the game, and should be treated as thus. It should be a real and concrete threat that a DP can use, to persuade offenders to correct themselves. And that will only be the case, if a ban is used when offenders don't comply. Otherwise it will just be another curiosity of the game, and a test of whos the most popular player in the current DP round.

With this in mind, I will not vote for a player that will not use a ban.

And I off course have to comment on the whole Casino business. I don't know if Casino was right or wrong in the bans, I wont adress that, I've read Casinos reason for doing it. And I can understand why he did it. But I don't think he did it particularly elegantly. He should have informed the other DPs that he was going to do it, and why. He should also have documented the offenses, with screenshots of chats, from the time of the offense.

And then there's the attempt to get the bans reversed. I guessed that it would be vetoed by Teppy, it's part of the game. It would be the same as asking Teppy to revive a dead character. And then there's the stripping of Casinos remaining bans. Well if thats going to be the response everytime someone uses the ban, why dont we vote for getting the bans removed alltogether? I think this is an example of the average Egyptian, not being ready for somebody to actually use the ban. It's part of the game, and I would not hesitate to use it, if an offense have been proven, and not been corrected.
