In the test of the Divine Sanctuary, a group of 10 players are tasked with building, blessing, and protecting a Divine Temple for 72 days.

After signing up for the test, a player may construct a Divine Temple using a medium construction site. The cost to build the temple is as follows:

  • 10 Cherry Travertine for the base
  • 4 Types of Incense (all simple to make ones) for purification
  • 100 Water in Jugs for purification
  • 1 Soaring Osprey to ward off evil spirits
  • 1 Floating Puffin to ward off evil spirits
  • 1 Soaring Eagle to ward off evil spirits
  • 1 Floating Finch to ward off evil spirits
  • 25 Lily of the Sea Bulbs, any type for beautification
  • 4 Tangerine-Tangelo Honey for the initial offering
  • 4 Summerbell-Pummelo Honey for the initial offering
  • 4 Orange-Mandarin Honey for the initial offering
  • 4 Lime-Lenat Honey for the initial offering
  • 7 Powdered Amethyst for the initial offering
  • 7 Powdered Citrine for the initial offering
  • 7 Powdered Garnet for the initial offering
  • 7 Powdered Jade for the initial offering
  • 7 Powdered Lapis for the initial offering
  • 7 Powdered Sunstone for the initial offering
  • 7 Powdered Turquoise for the initial offering
  • 1 Huge Opal for the focal point

After the temple is constructed, nine other players must select the temple and join it. Thus, a group of 10 protectors is formed and the temple becomes active. A message is sent to System noting that a Divine Temple has become active and displays the coordinates of the temple.

Every three Egyptian days after the temple is built, the temple gains a certain number of benedictions from the gods. Initially, 24 benedictions are gained and added to the temple. Every time thereafter, the number of benedictions gained decreases by one (to 23, 22, 21, etc) until 72 Egyptian days have passed. The temple will gain a total of 300 benedictions in this manner. After 72 days have passed, the temple becomes inactive and the benedictions in the temple are divided among the 10 protectors, rounded down. These are personal benedictions accumulate and can never be taken away.

Beginning one real life month after the test is opened, the player in Egypt with the highest number of accumulated personal benedictions passes the test. In the event of a tie, no pass is awarded that week.

It is crucial that the protectors of the Divine Temple protect their temple! Any player in Egypt can steal benedictions for themselves from the temple by performing an unholy sacrifice. To do this, the player must locate the temple and have a sheep and a sharp edged knife in their inventory. The player selects the temple, and chooses the option to "Desecrate this temple" which is visible if the player has the knife and sheep in their inventory. The sheep is consumed when this occurs. The player then receives an unholy vision which gives instructions for the sacrifice. They must sacrifice a randomly selected resource from among the following to the temple:

  • Dead ant
  • Salt
  • Acid
  • Sulfur
  • Gunpowder
  • Dung
  • Petroleum
  • Coal
  • Dirt
  • Mud
  • Thorns
  • Tar
  • Clinker
  • Volatile Explosives
  • Charcoal
  • Sharpened Stick
  • Arsenic
  • Quicksilver
  • Eye of Osiris
  • Dung Rot
  • Ra's Awakening
  • Spiderling
  • Speed of the Serpent
  • Thoth's Compound Extract
  • Ra's Compound Extract

They will have 3 Egyptian days to do this. They can only make one sacrifice during this time and cannot desecrate the temple again to receive new instructions until after the 3 days have passed. If they perform the sacrifice successfully, they will steal 7 benedictions from the temple for themselves. If they are currently a protector of a different active Divine Temple, they will steal 8 benedictions instead. If a player is stealing benedictions from their own temple, they will steal only 1 benediction, but the temple will lose 7 total benedictions when this occurs.

How can the protectors defend their Temple? They may bless the temple by upgrading it, thus strengthening its spiritual significance. Any of the ten members have the option to perform an upgrade.
