Template:StorageContainer

Purpose

The original use for this page was to satisfy the needs of the Public Warehouses page.

We (OldGorilla and Maxion), then decided it could work as a method for sharing the contents of virtually anything, anywhere. We tried to keep it as generic as possible, so it could work in many situations. Let us know if it does/doesn't work for you.

Usage

You can nest as many StorageContainers in the StorageHeader as you like.

You can use the existing StorageHeader file, or make your own.

Parameters:

{{StorageContainer|Region|Coords|Description|Owner (linked if possible)}}

For the owner links:

User links look like this: [[User:Spicy|Spicy]]

Guild links look like this: [[Guilds/The Seed Bank|The Seed Bank]]

Defaults:

Adding a New Container:

All you need to start is the region and the coords (the region is actually optional, but there's no reason to leave it out).

The best way to get the actual coords, is by pasting the "Copy contents to clipboard". But it's a chicken/egg thing. You need to paste the coords somewhere, but you don't have a file to paste into until you know what the coords are (you can use notepad, etc.) You can always use "standing coords" (coords for where you're standing). They should be close enough, if not perfect.

Once you add a row that has coords, saving/previewing will give you a red link to the storage container's contents page. Open that in a new tab/window, and paste a dump of "Utility -> Copy contents to clipboard". Save both pages, and you're done.
