		+	Aperio: re; dowsing for ores, I can tell you what I know about finding the basic ores,
		+	but that can only serve as a foundation. The rest I'm learning/ codifying as I go

		+	Aperio: At Per 0 you can identify copper ore and you can detect iron ore as a mineral you don't recognize

		+	Aperio: It's also best to team up with people to speed up your coverage
		+	Aperio: As to pattern... I have no idea. I think running a line in any direction (alternating spots) is
		+	probably more effective
		+	Aperio: If you stumble across a vein, it's because you're going to cross one and if you miss, it's because
		+	it's going to be parallel or non-present
		+	Aperio: So you might have some sort of diagonal pattern or coordinating pattern, but I don't have any advice
		+	to offer there, really. Probably some better ways to go

		+	Aperio: The other thing to know is that we're trying to determine if certain ores are arranged in certain ways
		+	Aperio: for example, copper appears to be curved and I've heard it suggested that it's a circle
		+	Aperio: I've seen no evidence to the contrary yet and in fact the copper I've been tracking appears to be a circle,
		+	possible 100s of coords in diameter (I've done about 10% of it
		+	urizen: iron is definitely a very long straight vein
		+	Ichigo: How often should I dowse?
		+	urizen: 5 coords?
		+	Aperio: The iron vein by camp appears to be 5-6 coords across
		+	Aperio: the copper vein I've been tracking appears to be about 4-6 coords, but it's hard to gauge because of the arc
		+	Aperio: I've collected hundreds of data points (coords) to try to plot it, but it would take me forever
		+	to determine the width for the whole circumference
		+	Aperio: I'll enlist more help when I have achieved what I want from the data (securing the gem pockets)
		+	Aperio: I think a lot of people are cagey about their dowsing hits for fear of claim jumpers and that's totally justified.

		+	Aperio: I recommend no more than 3 coords apart when looking for a vein
		+	Aperio: at 5 coords, I think you could skip over the vein
		+	Aperio: Once you find the vein and you're tracking it, the doswes are much closer together

		+	Hepnezr: for instance.. where the iron vein stops, does it end with some tin?
		+	Aperio: I wouldn't characterize it that way
		+	Aperio: Tin appears to exist at the intersection of copper and iron veins
		+	Aperio: so, sometimes? But rarely

		+	Aperio: More frequently, you'll just find a dead end
		+	Aperio: If it appears to dead end, you can try increasing your perception for a better look, but you're
		+	better off looking for an intersecting vein first
		+	Aperio: or making sure the vein really ended and didn't just turn
		+	tlanthil: I expect dowsing activity will get a big boost once we have casting (hence kitchen cooking)
		+	Hepnezr: been following a Fe vein near my cp
		+	Aperio: Tl - I think that pattern was just to make it easier for us to find Tin with our tech level
