• Draim: looks like you're the only other one on at the moment, :) I asusume you're interested in moving on as well?
• AbasiAsim: actually I'm not. I have no really asperations to become DP.

• AbasiAsim: are you interesting in holding the title of title of DP?

• AbasiAsim: I'm willing to listen to everyone and see who would like to move on and I'll cast my vote for one of them.
• Draim: I would be (though I don't see the "title" per say as the important thing)
• AbasiAsim: *nod* It seems like the only real power you have as a DP is the power to ban people...and that's not really relativent to my interests. ;)
• Draim: currently the only technical power (though I would argue that you often end up with some more "moral" power/responsibility that ends up being more important in the end
• Draim: well moral may not be the right word, but not technical
• Draim: I do have a law that I wrote that should be on the next ballot that would expand those powers some, not a ton but in a good way I think
• AbasiAsim: what powers do you think the DP should have?

• AbasiAsim: ok I'll check it out
• Draim: the law itself does two technical changes, the 1st one is already active on the other shard, the 2nd is new (the "arrest" part)
• AbasiAsim: basically it allows you to control (stop) griefers temporarily until you decide what to do with them?
• Draim: aye, while allowing you to talk to them at the same time (which is the biggest thing imo) basically a "freeze lets figure this out" button
• AbasiAsim: yeah, I think that sounds quite reasonable
• AbasiAsim: Its better than throwing "bans" around all willy nilly. Give everyone a chance to talk things out
• Draim: I had a nice fancily worded version that is on the forums but I had to 1. change it after talking to teppy acouple times and then to cut down the word count lol but ended up with everything I wanted in the law just worded a bit differently

• AbasiAsim: well you seem like a level headed guy, you've earned points in my book. ;P
• AbasiAsim: I'll give everyone else a chance to speak, but currently I'll have you down as my choice for moving foreward.

• Draim: if people are interested I'm more then happy to set up a debate/discussion time as well
• AbasiAsim: I'm sure that if the others are interested in going foreward they will want to have a disscussion and a chance to state their position

• Catote: Hello you two. I see that Draim still wishes to become DP. I moved to 2nd round (now where nobody really wants to, as we dont need it any more for "kingmaker") on my personal interest to make this game more friendsly towards new players, and seeing the DP as one platform to be heard from.

• Telanoc: So who wants to be DP when they grow up?
• Catote: I want to make an effort to make this game more friendsly towards new players. Draim want to have a 2nd chance. Thats all I know so far.
• Telanoc: How do you think you can make the game more friendly to new players?
• Catote: How can one think that should not be possible. Isnt it just a matter of putting in an effort. At least that seems pretty obvious, for a new atitd player like me.
• Telanoc: Ok, as a new atitd player, what part of the new player experience didn't you like?

• Catote: There are 2 major aspekts. Firstly: the most annoying thing in this game is running around,and alot of those runs happens because the UI doesnt really tell what going on. Example: standing at a school 10 mins away, with the wrong resource for tuition (like dried papyrus instead of raw papyrus)
• Catote: The idea, that you MUST have (and like to use) a wiki to play
• Telanoc: And secondly?
• Catote: And Secondly: initial test system, where new player will never have a chance. Only experienced players know what resources to have and when, and get a significant advantage.
• Catote: Like the Cicada test (to reduce road running time) where the first wave can pick up the easy ones. In general whoever begin a test first will have an easy time.
• Catote: Many people here get defensive and says, read the wiki. All information is there. I say, then stay the select few, its not the way to attract more people
• Telanoc: And how do you think the issue(s) could be addressed?
• Catote: Oh, I dont claim to be game developer. I will just point out what worked well, and what didnt. Certainly making a shard to attract new playes, and then have a tons of experienced players using it for playground and rushing tests and technologies and then dropping the game, may not the be most welcoming way for the few new players here.
