Hello My Fellow QR-ites :)
Queen's Retreat Waterworks is a regional guild dedicated solely to the construction, maintenance and expansion of a public Aqueduct for the Test of Life.
We have set up a Guild Hall at 54 -6191 by sBody. All are welcome to join for free, though bricks and boards (for expansion of guild) are appreciated.
all donate to Aqueduct System is welcome o you dont need the test to join you can join to just help out this is a Region guild consider joining this huge project.
Queen's Retreat Waterworks
Guild elders are dedicated to the coordination and oversight of the guild and it's project. Please contact any elder to discuss. Elders:
Members
Anyone who is interested in participating in the guild or the project is welcome to join.
Guild Projects
These are OTHER guild projects that are not the pump itself. Most are things we want in our cp to help members
- 1 Pottery Deck (need bearings)
- 2 Vault Kilns (need firebricks)
- 18 carpentry shops
- 5 more warehouses
- 2 Kitchens
There is also public Pottery Deck and Vault Kiln a bit nearer the CS at Ptahiah's house 483, -6068. The vault kiln needs a few firebricks to be finished - one of my warehouses is stashable (DON'T use the one closest to the kiln - that isn't mine!). Thanks to everyone who helped make these, especially Haraelendil for the bearings and everyone who made firebricks!
Tower Support
The guild will try to help provide tiles for your personal tower. This will require donations of raeli tiles by members who have ovens. Once the pump requirements are met, we will look to this need.
Aqueduct System Benefits
In addition to being a test pass, there were Four major benefits to having an Aqueduct System in T3.
- The Vegetable Bonus - Near various towers there is a triple yield vegetable harvests bonus area. Veggies are grown here just like any other place, you just get 3 times as many when you harvest them.
- Growing Herbs - Herb seeds can only be planted near some aqueduct towers.
- The Attribute Bonus - You can drink from a tower and will get a 24 teppyhour (~27 RL hrs) +1 boost to a single attribute. The attribute boosted is in addition to permanent stats and in addition to food. This is especially useful when your Strength and Dexterity are not the same and you can drink to boost the lower stat to have 500 more carry.
- Moss Growth - A different varieties of moss grow at each tower. Moss is used for other tests and for monuments.
What has to be done
Step one is to build an Aqueduct Pump. This is a major group project that requires a large amount of materials. Once the pump as been constructed, individuals can build their own tower, creating a large chain of towers stemming from the main pump.
The plan is to build the Aqueduct Pump near the guild hall at sBody. Then, the chain of towers will head west across (through the sand/dirt/grass area) to the desert's edge. Then the chain will turn north and head along the edge of grass/sand towards the QR Cabbage/Leek growing spot. This path will hopefully get us a good cabbage/leek tower while also cutting through a good mix of terrain that could benefit all veggies types.
Test of Life and Points
To pass the Test of Life (or the principle), you need to get "points" for veggies grown. You will get 1 point for every harvest (not veggie) completed at your tower, or at a tower further down the line than yours. Accumulating points, then, is a group effort - we will grow veggies at the LAST tower in the chain to maximize points for everyone.
Requirements for Tower Builders
Everyone will want to build a tower. The more people who build a tower, the better for everyone. Here is what YOU must do if you build a tower:
- Collect all materials required for a tower (guild to provide raeli tiles to all through donation from members)
- Build your tower along the designated path
- Do a veggie test at your tower (to see if it's a bonus tower or not)
- Complete 1000 harvests at the LAST tower in the chain. (By taking responsibility for our own principle requirements, QR tower members will be well set to pass the test)
Construction Costs
Builds a 500 foot tall tower and a one twentieth share of a 500 foot tall pump with an upgraded cistern. If we have more than 20 people that are willing to do the "full-monty" we can adjust the fixed cost items and still collect the full amount on the variable cost items. This will allow for a higher Pump with a larger storage cistern.
This basically is the cost of a high tower near the pump and a share of the pump costs.
Cost to build the pumping station:
- 0/600 Steel Wire for Tension Mechanism
- 0/600 Copper Wire for Winding Mechanism
- 0/120 Moon Steel for Waterproof Sheath (this is most likely sheeting, even though it doesn't say so)
- 0/1 Cistern
- 0/50,000 White Raeli Tiles
- 0/30,000 Greenish Raeli Tiles
- 0/30,000 Yellowish Raeli Tiles
- 0/30,000 Pinkish Raeli Tiles
- 0/50,000 Black Raeli Tiles
- 0/100,000 Any color of Raeli Tiles
- 0/50,000 Rotproof, Rigid, Nontoxic Boards
- 0/10,000 Concrete for Base
- 0/100 Oyster Shell Marble
- 0/100 Night Granite
- 0/100 Grey Star Marble
Tower Construction Costs
Towers are built in a similar way as pumps. The construction tool will note how far away from a suitable location you are. You must be within 8 feet of a suitable location in order to place a construction site. Once placed, the construction site still may not work if it's not placed close enough to a pump or a connecting tower (it will say this and not let you add materials).
- 0/1 Cistern
- 0/5 Copper Pipe
- 0/200 Black Raeli Tiles
- 0/100 White Raeli Tiles
- 0/50 Yellowish Raeli Tiles
- 0/50 Reddish Raeli Tiles
- 0/50 Greenish Raeli Tiles
- 0/50 Blueish Raeli Tiles
- 0/100 Concrete
- 0/20 Tar
- Pipe Segment to increase height of tower (build 10-20 for your tower)
Material Contributions and Tower Order
Other than collecting materials, the hardest part of this project is determining the order in which towers are build. Passes will work in order, where the person who builds the 4th tower will pass the test before the person who builds the 5th (though, there are 7 passes per week).
Some tower projects in the past have ended up with a lot of politics. We will not have that. This is a fun and challenging regional project. This "point" system is in place to make things a bit more fair and hopefully avoid any politics. This is a drama free guild :)
Everyone will get a tower and we will all pass the test, fear not.
To keep it simple, the initial build order of towers will be based on material contributions. A point system will be devised for contributions. Guild elders reserve the right to adjust points to account for "non-material" contributions that may come up.
Updates to total material storage goes here. You should also list any "commitments" you're making on certain materials, so that we can track work in progress and avoid duplication.
