Welcome to BooBoo's Blog

January 24, 2009 Yippee... Thanks to the great people of Saqqarah and Sinai (in honor of Psychedelica) I completed my Empty Hand Puzzle and received a zap from the fabulous Clause. After the cheering along with Yogi and Mr. Ranger who attended the zappage, I ran over to the EOH to check my prophecies. Unbelievable, I actually received a point and gained ANOTHER level. It's a wonderful day indeed.

January 23, 2009 Empty Hand Pffffttt... A big shout out to Clause for helping me figure out how to make the puzzle. The problem is I still haven't completed it. So Saturday is the day... crossing fingers.

January 22, 2009 Today I thought I would get a little friend for my pet otter Yogi. Yogi has been quite docile lately and it appeared that he may have wanted to chat a bit with something other than a human. So I picked up a little buddy for him who will now be called Mr. Ranger. I should have known. Mr. Ranger was never very nice to Yogi or I before, and it seems that nothing has changed. He immediately began to whisper terrible things in Yogi's ear and made fun of him as he, well... you decide for yourself.

January 21, 2009 Yippee, I received my first speed point today. I'm so excited. YAY

Speed Point 1

January 20, 2009 Ranting I know that Teppy was away, BUT 4 days ago I got one of those pop ups when i found a little woodplane to claim and thought I would put a dev call in (just like the popup says) to let them know i came across something. I gave the coords of the woodplane and when after a half hour I didn't get a response (this was before they said that no dev calls would be answered till Teppy returns) I placed a call to a GM who answered me promptly. He said I didn't have to wait for a Dev to pick up my message and I gave him the coords and I went on my way. Tonight as I logged in I had a box with a message from a Dev that said 51m (Dev's Name): Cancelling this 4 day old call for something more relevant. Dev has left the channel. Now... I understand that the dev's were very busy without Teppy here. BUT... please debit my account $1.00 and give it to that Dev to buy a personality. It just seems that he or she could have left a bit nicer message. BooBoo has left the channel. P.S. Dev's name has been deleted because I don't feel as annoyed now as I did when I read it. :-)

January 19, 2009 There is something about the man who is the strong silent type. Wahim is always giving us the tests and even spoke on E! tonight. Sami didn't say anything. When I asked Sami to marry me a few days ago (see below) he didn't respond. I think he is just shy. Since I always stay solo in a tale instead of getting married, I think that I'll just be Sami's Groupie this tale. Maybe, if Sami actually reads my blog, he could bestow this as my official title.

January 18, 2009 Today I worked all day doing one of the very mindless things I love doing in Egypt. Making bricks and boards. Thousands of them. Very strange because I actually enjoyed doing it. Then I decided to take a bit of a tour of Queens Retreat this evening. I mentioned in chat where some sheep were that I found and low and behold SteveThePirate and his ahem... lovely wife Choltai chatted to me in the regional. It seems that Steve has been quite the Romeo around the various regions of Egypt and his wife Choltai reprimanded him a bit for it. (It was quite the humorous exchange and I urge you to call them out in chat to discuss the bliss of marriage) For some reason I do not believe that my exchange with Steve's wife is finished. I'm sure there is more to be heard about this. I continued on my way around QR as the sun set. I found a large stone to rest my head on for the evening to continue my tour of the lovely Queens Retreat tomorrow.

January 16, 2009 People are trading for MP's, trading for cicada locations, and now trading for acro moves. Doesn't anyone enjoy working for their skills and tests anymore? Maybe I'm just old school ATITD and believe there is actually fun in forming friendships and sharing MP's (when I have enough stuff to finally make them,) and just acroing for the heck of it, enjoying every facet I can give, and taking a stroll into the outter depths of regions to find my own cicadas no matter how long it takes. I do like to trade for small amounts of metals or gems when it is difficult to find a public mine, but acro? Worst of all, Boy George was put in jail today for 15 months. What is this world coming to?

January 14, 2009 Tonight on the news I read that Ricardo Montalban died. For those of you that don't know who he is, he was Mr. Roarke in the white suit on the old television show Fantasy Island. Ricardo was 88 years old. What surprised me most about reading about him was his being married to his wife (whom had passed last year) for 63 years. Yes, 63 years married to the same woman. Here I am worrying what would happen if I was married 63 minutes, never mind 63 years. Could I be married to a man for 63 years? I don't think so since I would be the oldest living person in the world and I would have to get married in the next 5 minutes and I still wouldn't last for the entire 63 years. I just thought it was interesting that someone could find something to say to someone day after day after day etc...etc... etc... for 63 years. It did bring a tear to my eye though. Imagine being so in love with someone that you actually liked waking up next to them even after 63 years. It's probably one of the most romantic things I have read in awhile. Here's a toast to you Ricardo!

January 13, 2009 On my blog 2 days ago I wrote about a trade I made for lead. The lead was for limestone tools so I could get 3 limestone per pull. I was very excited at the time and tonight I sat myself down at a limestone mine while watching the American Idol auditions (and crying because I was laughing so hard). Suddenly, my lead chisel broke. I know I had picked quite a bit of limestone yesterday and today, but it was a bit sad. So, now it's back to flint chisels until I can trade again for lead to make ANOTHER lead chisel. But, I think that this time I will trade for a bit more lead and make a few chisels. It was very disturbing that I was clicking away for awhile, not watching the screen because I was transfixed on Simon and his antics on TV, and not picking anything. Oh well, back to the drawing board on the lead chisel.

January 11, 2009

Evening: Yay I went to the beautiful wedding of Korrin and Seba.

Korrin and Seba's Wedding

I wish the happy couple a long and happy life together.

While I was feeling romantic from the wedding, it crossed my mind that there was only one man for me in the game, Sami. As I daydreamed about my life with Sami and what it would be like, on my way to the chariot stop all of a sudden Sami showed up. He was working hard as usual setting up a conflict shrine. So the following one sided conversation occurred as I ran over to him.

BooBoo: Sami will you marry me?

Sami:

BooBoo: I will be a good obedient wife. And I'm fun too.

Sami:

BooBoo: and if you don't speak at all that is a plus.

Sami: [OOC:Setting up the arena]

BooBoo: If you don't marry me, I will never marry anyone else.

Sami:

BooBoo: I know your work takes you away from home often.

And poof, my darling Sami was off to work somewhere else. Never saying a word, I'm sure contemplating my marriage proposal. I think he was speechless.

Morning: I made a trade for some lead so I wouldn't have to pick 1 limestone at a time. Kitsuki was very fair and nice about it, but he lives in ADN. Now I live in Saqq (where Teppy seems to hate us this tale) and I had to travel on a million chariots to get to ADN. Rosenfuer, BenEchAton, JCC, and Cynril were all at the chariot stop and gave me great big hellos, so the day began with a big smile on my face. Kitsuki knew what I needed for what I was making and made sure I had enough of the lead. A big shout out to Kitsuki. On my travels back to Saqq I came upon Psychodelica at the cs and was excited that I was a master to her in Acro. So we passed the time acroing and we were pleased I could give her some facets and a new move. After I returned to my little abode and fired up the lead to make the stuff I needed, I realized I do not have carving 3 yet. Inarus was kind enough to make the heavy crude handle and I rushed home to make the Heavy Mallet. YAY. Now I can pick up 3 limestones instead of 1. Why am I so excited? Limestone is very very very boring to me. But, it is ever so important to make glass which I need for etc...etc... etc...

January 10, 2009

A wild acroline in Shabby. I went there around 3:30 p.m. eastern and I walked into my cp at 9:15 p.m. almost six hours.

Waiting for Acro

I saw 5 masters and was master to 2. I was bestowed with 5 new moves making my total to 8. AND I received somehow 2 dex points. It was wonderful. Thank you to everyone at the acro event at Shabby. Wonderfully organized and a huge turnout.

January 9, 2009 Tonight was fun. One of my favorite tests opened up, cicada hunting. I promised myself I would find one cicada and head home. Well, I did find a cicada, but an impromptu acro party started at the Falcon Bay chariot stop so of course I went. I learned a new move from Bender, so a big shout out to him. I taught my 105th facet and a big shout out to me. After the acro party I hopped on the chariots to get back to my little compound to build a locker for my beetles. Now I realize that I had better get moving on making glass or I will never have anything I need to build more stuff, and we all know how important all that stuff is. Stuff, it's like time, we never have enough of it. Have a good night all, see you tomorrow when the snow is coming down in New York City.

January 7, 2009 OK, so I lied. She didn't take the night off because she knows she has no time and has to make time. It was work work work. But I did make a 7K carp blade on my 4th try, so it was worth it.

January 6, 2009 BooBoo's human is tired tonight because there is no TIME. Time, time to make cc, time to expand compound, time to update her ATITD 4 book that is sitting on the computer desk, time to mine, time to make stuff to get skills, AND time to go to work to support herself and me of course. There is no time. So tomorrow night she is taking a break from ATITD so she can take care of some stuff that she really doesn't want to do because she needs more time to do stuff in ATITD. ... and you, kind person, who has come to the blog to read this, have a great evening and day doing all the things that BooBoo really wants to do. :) (Big smile)

January 5, 2009 YAY I taught my 100th facet this evening to Kathy by UWshp in Saqqarah. We were both masters to each other. So a big SHOUT OUT to Kathy, thank you so much. Tonight is carpentry blade night. I'm just looking to make the lead thingy and I am done with the tools. I'm going to try to make a carp blade anyway tonight because I never used the lead thingy anyway last tale. Good luck to all the blacksmiths tonight.

January 4, 2009 So many things going on. Where do I start? After 11 days vacation, the human sadly sat down at the puter today for her last day of gaming. Mostly it will be for a bit at night during the week now so she is sad. All of a sudden the event channel lit up and there was Sami talking about a Phoenix Race. So I completely missed the first one and silly me used up all my travel time going to 3 of the Phoenix stadiums without realizing I should conserve my 16 hours free tt. So I gathered myself together with my 3 stadium models and pepper seeds and withdrew from the rest of it. Very sad, indeed. If I had conserved better on my tt, all would have gone well I believe. Of course while running to the Saqqarah Phoenix Stadium, I picked up casting. Now with free time on my hands I built a Masters Casting Box and built my first kettle. In hopes that Advanced Blacksmithing comes around soon, (Carpentry Blade here I come) I built an anvil for future use. Now with the Casting Box and all the other forges all that comes to mind is charcoal. Fortunately the one thing I'm pretty good at is my charcoal hearth. So charcoal it is for the next few nights. Enjoy the evening and great big congratulations to all the winners in the Phoenix Race that I had so much fun doing even for the short time.

January 3, 2009

Ok, now is later. cory0210 did a great job on P! Channel moderating tonight. So a big shout out to Cory. While listening to the discussion I fished a bit and think I threw my back out.

Fishing

Then an announcement came onto the System chat about picking up our otters. So I warped back home and picked up Yogi who I had left out and then dropped him to do some more training in back flip.

Training Yogi

All in all it was a lovely evening. The human had a few drinks out and dinner with a gentleman friend and she called it a night early for a change.

I spent the day shrooming, foraging, wood runs, iron ore, and basic running around. While running for some white sand, I fondly remembered cicada hunting last tale. I could forage while finding that perfect place for my cicada, and hunt down other people’s cicadas while checking the ground for various animals working on the safari test. All of my favorite things to do are still to come, and I am anticipating the wonderful moment that Teppy aka Wahim aka Sami tells us, The Test for Safari or Cicada is open. While daydreaming about all of this I was grateful that I had brought along a grilled pepper to pick up the white sand and made sure my pocket was full before I zapped back to my little abode. Unfortunately for me, but fortunately for my human, she is going out AGAIN tonight. So I will miss the acro/dig that I overheard in E! Enjoy the evening and if she gets home early enough then maybe I will bump into you later. :-)

The Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center was beautiful last night. My friend and I stopped at Alfredo of Rome for dinner at 4 West 49th Street and had a great dinner although the atmosphere was kind of not that great. The dark chocolate mousse ended up keeping me up all night because I was sugar rushing. When I got home I wound up on a great acroline in Shabby. There were lots of stations of new people that I hadn't acro'd with before. I was bestowed with my second move - Lunge - and was happy as mousse. There was nothing better than seeing my master Astrina with 12 moves now and she provided me with quite a number of facets. A big thank you to Astrina for being so patient with me.

January 1, 2009 Great acro party in Shabby. Very well organized and a brand new group of people I had never seen before. I have taught a total of 89 facets and dreams of being Pharaoh's Acrobat are in the wind. Tonight I am working on building my food tent. Foraging is a great hobby with me and I plan on working on my cooking skills this tale. I hope that everyone had a safe New Year's Eve. Tomorrow there will not be a blog as I am going with a friend to see the Christmas tree in Rockefeller Center and then going to enjoy a nice dinner. Yes, BooBoo lives in the suburbs of New York City, so it's time to enjoy some of the city life, even if only for one night. :-)
