Asked Sami to Marry Me | 5 Times |
Previous months can be linked to at the bottom.
February 22, 2009 Acidity level 8334, 9259. DINNER WITH SAMI... I can't believe that no one told me that one of the rewards for mentorship is dinner with Sami. This is a dilemma. I am not online for very long on weeknights. What to do? What to do?
February 21, 2009 Acidity level 10287, 11429.
The camels aren't breeding. I don't need to flax, but feel lost not being able to. Call me a psychiatrist. On a happier note, Jeff qualified 6th for the race tomorrow in California and I'm going out for some good Sangria and Mexican food this evening praying I remember to check on the rabbits, beetles, camels, sheep, Mr. Ranger, Yogi, and all the other assorted animals when I get home. And how long was that sentence? Thank goodness that grammar, punctuation, spelling, fragments, and all the other important writing skills are being thrown out the window for this blog. Enjoy the evening.

Acidity down to 12698 A formal shout out to Teppy for making it a pain in the *@#$ to make the ash to make the potash to make the melted glass to make the sheet glass, only to have 18 of them break to make 12 and run out of potash.
Acidity down to 14108.
For everyone that drops rabbits there is one that doesn't and just does a point and click and finds one.
The acidity level at my cp is now 15675. No flaxing done at all yesterday. At least it is going in the right direction.
So my dear friend Pitaboo and I built a greenhouse for the camels today. Here we are tending to the flowers. The greenhouse is a beautiful addition.

Okay, I'm all for saving the planet, green stuff, yada, yada, yada. So there I was this week very excited about my OBI passing the test after pitaboo helped me make a gazillion flax for linen. Then today I finally caught a male camel to mambo with the female I had caught. Cost? A total of 43,000 straw over 3 nights. The male was cheaper then the 2 females I caught which was interesting in itself. So this morning after getting that cheap male camel and killing off one of the females since my straw was reduced to zilch, I decided to do a little flaxing. Here I am, making a few hundred seeds and beginning to start to plant the flax. "Ummm wait," I said to myself. I'm picking up nothing. All of a sudden a message comes up in my main chat that says my soil is no good.
Well after a few minutes of freaking out, (actually it only took a second) I told pitaboo, who shares the area with me about this dilemma. You see, I didn't want to freak out alone. So after we both did the crazy dance I started to work on coords that the pollution was taking place. The acidity level was around 21000 in the morning. I am not totally convinced it's the flax even though tons of people said it was. It could be the camel pen for all I know. The coords I calculated have the center as the camel pen so I'm totally confused. If little ole me and little ole pitaboo could inflict this much damage just by flaxing for a week straight, what is happening to Egypt where the research guilds are pumping out enormous amounts of flax and stuff? Putting my call in to Al Gore as soon as possible. Late check of acidity level put it at 19351.

A woman’s rant – stream of consciousness. So today the human took a break and went to get her highlights done and a haircut. She is letting her hair grow out from a very very short style so she is now in the in-between stage. All women know this can be a horrible experience and may sympathize with her. She goes and has the highlights done and loves them and sits down for the haircut, which now becomes the hair trim and shaping because of the in-between stage. Now mind you, previously she was getting haircuts that she could wake up in the morning, wash her hair in the shower and dry in 1 minute just putting her hands through her hair and was done. A kind of done and go hairstyle that her friends envied. Her usual hairstylist likes the idea that she is letting her straight hair grow and trims it accordingly. The mousse is moved all around expertly by the stylist and the blow dryer comes out. The next thing she knows she has this BIG poufy hair somewhere in between Joan Rivers and Staten Island big hair with the back looking a bit like Katie Holmes. Needless to say it was unusual at best. So the stylist recommends all of these products now that her hair is longer and the bill for this concoction of a hair style is extraordinary. As she is walking past the Barnes and Noble to get to her car she looks in the window and doesn’t recognize herself. The wind breaks through her pouf and she looks like Edward Scissorhands with a haircut. And that’s my rant for the day.
Well the excitement unfolding yesterday turned from a very happy time for me to an, "omg I have to get some sleep," moment. I built an OBI Saturday. As anyone who has built one knows, it is an anxious time period waiting to see if it passes, worrying about being overbuilt, so on and so forth. So silly me looks at the wiki and it says that teppy time is 1 hour and equals approx. 8 hours real time. This means that my OBI would have passed the test in 56 real time hours after I built it at 9:17 a.m. on Saturday which would end at 5:17 p.m. eastern time yesterday. In my neurotic state of worrying about it I sat, and sat, and sat, waiting for it to pass. Then to make matters worse, I had previously made plans with a friend for dinner. So I turned off my computer at 6:30 p.m. and went for the fastest dinner ever. When I came back online, no pass yet. So my dear friends in Saqq had to hear me being a crazy person wondering why I didn't pass yet. So I looked at the time stamp when I originally built the OBI and it said I still had 4 teppy hours to go. Meanwhile it was midnight, which was 7 real time hours later then the original 56 hours real time going by the wiki. A number of people said that lag time should be taken into account, but 7 hours lag?
So I contacted a wonderful GM who said that she also thought it was an excessive amount of lag time and I should bump it up to a Dev Call and announce in regional that there may be a timing issue going on and I will want to ask the region to not overbuild because it would make it harder for them to locate the timing issue. I did as she asked and gave a brief blurb of what had transpired and what the GM asked me to repeat in regional. Being a drama free person, (except when I rant here on the blog) I listened to some criticism of my not understanding teppy time and yada, yada, yada. Since it was already 1:30 a.m. I decided it was time to go and get some sleep. I am very happy to say that when I awoke this morning I found I had leveled and passed the test. So for anyone doing an OBI, just look at a time stamp in a chat window and throw away the info that 8 real time hours equal 1 teppy hour. The webpage http://armeagle.atitd.org/loggraph.html explains it all.

I can't believe it. I found 4 different types of chocolates in the trees near my compound and I'm sure they were from Sami. Of course he couldn't show favoritism, so many other people are finding chocolates too.
There is something very very very exciting going on, but I can't tell you till much later today. Stay tuned.

Daytona 500 Day - Let's Go Jeff - The human purchased a brick for the Nascar Hall of Fame opening in 2010 in Charlotte, NC. Which means she will have to make a trip there to see it. If you happen to go there in 2010, her brick says, Jeffs Da Best 24 and then her name and where she is from. (How corny is that?)
If you see me sitting around smoking a hookah or not answering chats it's because I'm watching Jeff hopefully win the 500 today. Poo, rain shortened Daytona 500 and Jeff comes in 13th. He did lead the race for 14 laps at least and I know he would have come back to win if it wasn't for that horrible weather. Oh well. Until the race next week.
February 14, 2009 Happy Valentine's Day my darling Sami. Smooch!!!
Okay, so Sami didn't give me anything for Valentine's Day. I know he is busy. Teppy kept talking all day on ENN Yada, Yada, Yada, and Sami never got a chance to appear. Teppy works him to death. The only great thing about Teppy talking on ENN was someone mentioning a Valentine's Event for the most amounts of proposals to me or the marriage of Sami and I. Fat chance of that happening with Teppy keeping Sami so busy. On my adventures this evening I attended a lovely Star Lab exhibition hosted by Heplotep.
As I was leaving, when the show was over I met up with Rodent who acro'd with me. A big huge shout out to Rodent who is a blog reader. I was very excited to meet her and although I only provided her with one facet, it was much fun chatting away.
On a side note: Tony Stewart won the Nationwide race today. (This will always be the Busch race to true NASCAR fans)
February 13, 2009
So today starts a vacation week for the human and I. How did I start it? Sweet ScupperArbuckle invited me over for a few glasses of wine and well... a picture says a thousand words.
Ranger is following in his mothers footsteps.
A very special shout out to Scupper for many great wines this evening, although he did get me drunk, also to merek for a wonderful masterpiece for my first gastro point. Umopepisdn gets another special shout out because I was able to teach him 14 facets this evening. Now, about this headache I will have from all this wine.
February 12, 2009 Jeff Gordon my favorite driver in the whole world (I admit my human and I are the biggest Nascar fans in NYC. Maybe even the only ones) will start 3rd at Daytona on Sunday. This is very very exciting since he had such a bad showing last year, even though he made it to the chase, he didn't win a race. For those of you that don't know anything about Nascar, it just means that it's a great beginning for him. Secondly, I caught a rat and my first otter tonight. Yay for strength point 3 and carry of 2k. Life is good.

Vote NO on Wahim's Mettalurgy Proposal. Bring back citizenship to Egypt and stop the greed. Let Wahim know you can't be bought. I am BooBoo, and I approve this message.
February 10, 2009 Happy Birthday to Cory0210, Happy Birthday to Cory0210, Happy Birthday to Cory0210, Happy Birthday to you. Yippee, Cheers, and many many more.
There was a ton of flaxing to do tonight for the special project Pitaboo and I are working on. So when it became time to work the Hackling Rake with a couple of hundred rotten flax I finished, I sat my butt down and smoked the hookah while clicking away. And I smoked, and smoked, and smoked, and before I knew it I was at 40 Fumeology. Then of course I had to get to that all important 49 for a perception point, so I smoked. And smoked, and smoked, etc., etc., etc., until 49 and a perception point appeared. Yippee again.
February 9, 2009
Bunny and I searched for falcons after we found a Bushy Fennec.
It ended up that the rest of the bunnies were spared as we decided to tag a gazelle instead and saved them for another day.
February 8, 2009 A GREAT day in Egypt. A huge shout out to Zaniac and Worship World Guild for having a vigil and allowing me to participate. I leveled up to that all important level 14 to get my third waypoint. Thank you, thank you. Found a frog and tagged a gazelle in Adn and a big great huggers to everyone in Adn with the tag of the gazelle. It was a great group effort. After the tag, I had a new move bestowed upon me when we acro'd. Then, (after getting lost in the chariots and running back to Saqq from Shabby) I was interviewed in regional chat by Cory0210 who psychoanalyzed me and felt that knowing I have white appliances gave insight into my personality. The problem I have with stainless steel appliances is that magnets do not stick to stainless steel. I have a great little saying on my fridge and I read it every day. "It is never too late to be what you might have been." -- george eliot ...and I truly believe that.
February 6-7, 2009
After ranting below about frogs, my day has come. Or days should I say. This is how it began. ScupperArbuckle told me that there was a monkey in Sinai that mooned you and pointed to his butt. Now this may not sound like the most exciting thing for a monkey to do, but Mr.Ranger hops like a bunny and is also a drunk that falls flat on his face. So I thought that mooning and pointing might be perfect for my little alcoholic sidekick. I went on a nice little excursion up to Sinai through a couple of regions and found three, yes, three, frogs, and actually caught them.
I already had found a desert rat and gazelle so this gave me that much needed strength point. When I finally reached my destination to have Mr. Ranger and the mooning monkey play, I left the two of them together for a few minutes and Mr. Ranger began mooning me and pointing to his heinie. So I picked him up and traveled home via various chariots to Saqqarah. I set him down and..... he didn't moon. All of a sudden there was an announcement that in Sinai there were Ibis. So I picked Mr. Ranger up, and I used a ridiculous amount of precious travel time to get to Sinai to tag the Ibis. I zapped back home with travel time all the way back to Saqqarah and checked Mr. Ranger again and he still didn't moon. Very upsetting to have a drunk bunny hopping monkey who has no redeeming quality. It seems that Yogi now freezes while he is jumping.
He really has NO redeeming qualities at all.
February 5, 2009 Smoking my hookah tonight. Can't talk right now feeling funny from it.
February 3, 2009
Heptathlon by Sami. It was a riot. I ran my little butt off for the fastest half hour in Egypt to do all the things necessary. I didn't use any food stats or anything so I knew i was a sure loser, but It was very much fun. I never considered not doing one of them, I wanted it all. Then when Sami was making announcement of winners (no I didn't win) at least not a physical prize, but an honorable mention for being 1 of 14 players who did each part of the Heptathlon. Sam mentioned my name AGAIN for all the world to see. Swoons
Frogs - Well what can I say? There is no spot anymore so... I found a frog in a deserted area where no one would catch it that came along. I put sand at the spots where I thought it was the loudest so I would know where exactly I had been because that 5 minute end timer is a killer. I made sure my headphones were tightly on. I literally walked around the entire lake area and hit every spot and didn't catch it. Then after 45 minutes or more, the frog disappeared. Bring back the spot. It was most disconcerting. --On a happy note-- Sami built a beautiful compound near the Meroe chariot spot. So I went over to see it and figured this is as good as time as any, so I asked him to marry me again (5) of course he was so busy with his work that he couldn't respond and I understand that. Until next time.
February 2, 2009 Okay so Punxsutawney Phil says there will be six more weeks of winter. Yay... just more nights I can hang out in Egypt without guilt feelings. The human (I am mad at her again) had to take off from work today. So after the doctor says, "watch what you eat, reduce eating those masterpieces" she stops at Burger King for 2 jr whoppers and an onion rings with hot sauce.
Ranting -- I never heard of people paying for masterpieces in the other tales. We always chipped in to the cook for the mats. Often, the cook enjoyed making the meals and sharing them with guildmates and anyone else who happened along. Boo to the chargers and eventually (second time I'm saying this) when I come up with a masterpiece I will be happy to share it with one and all for FREE. Yes, I am trying all the time to come up with one. After all, isn't foraging a great thing to do? I love it and still get excited when I come across a plant that is unusual
February 1, 2009
A new day and a new month. Today I thought I was prepared for the tournament of SevenBlades. I had no idea the excitement it would bring. I ended up Rank 2 after using all my "spend a wins" but it was a great time anyway. Sami was there and I of course asked him to marry me for the 3rd time. BUT... I got to play a game of SevenBlades and he actually spoke to me. YES ME :-)
Then I asked him in front of everyone to marry me AGAIN #4. Of course he didn't answer, but I understand that he is a busy person. To show my dear Sami that I was not just any ordinary woman of Egypt I beat him in the game and received his sword as the winner. I asked him if I could keep it and he said YES. Oh My!
It was thrilling.
On a somber note, Roger Federer lost to Rafa Nadal at the Australian Open. It wasn't bad enough that he lost, but the way I found out. You see, here in New York City the match was on live at 3:30 a.m. so I (the human and I are now one I) put the DVR on so I could watch it before anything in the morning. So I got up at 8 a.m turned the television on and immediately went to the taped match. So I (we) could go to Egypt while watching television, I turned on the computer. WELL, the human has CNN as her homepage (she will henceforth be known as I, but I'm mad right now) and on the front page of CNN in bright yellow it said, NADAL BEATS FEDERER AT THE AUSTRALIAN OPEN.
In other news... a rant is beginning to engineer its way towards the blog. Stay tuned for more.
