Sometimes, when filling your jugs, you will collect some tadpoles along with your water. Tadpoles have 0 weight and 0 bulk; you can carry and store as many as you like.
Tadpoles are used in Ecology in soil testing. But their greatest use is probably in sculptures, owing to the cool look of the fishbowls they are kept in.
If you feel like you've accumulated all the tadpoles you could ever want, you can go into Options -> Interface Options and select "Discard any tadpoles you find when gathering water". You will no longer collect tadpoles while this option is selected.
