I will attempt to make a visual guide for multiple garden thistle growing. You'll need a couple of things you'll need prior to starting this process:
- Automato [1] (formerly Veggie Tales)
- A text editor like Notepad
Step 1
Number your Silkworm Farms
This is essential. It doesn't matter how you number them, just keep them in order so that you can remember the numbering:
Step 2
Gather Thistle Requirements
Each Silkworm Farm will have a random set of nutrient requirements assigned to it. Those requirements will not change unless the silk worms are fed that particular thistle. Only then will the farm get a new nutrient requirement. There are seven nutrients: Ascorbin (A), Biotin (B), Carotene (C), Folin (F), Niacin (N), Pyroxidine (P), and Thiamine(T). And three value levels: High (+), Average (~), and Low (-). The Silkworm Farm will present you with four of the seven available nutrients at various levels.
So the Silkworm Farms will present you with:
The Automato conversion for this set of nutrients is:
- Average in Ascorbin = A~
- High in Carotene = C+
- High in Folin = F+
- Low in Pyroxidine = P-
Or A~C+F+P-
If possible, open the config_thistle.txt (located in the \Automato\games\ATITD folder) on another monitor. This file is the instruction for Automato to build nutrient recipies for later. This is a two part process; inputting the current thistle voids and inputting the thistle nutrient requirements for each Silkworm Farm. The top section of the config_thistle.txt file is where you input the current voids:
The second part of config_thistle.txt is where you will input your Silkworm nutrient requirements:
Looking at the requirements section, you'll notice a series of desired "label:OB #" (for Obelisk Builders farm #) and below each of those a desired thistle nutrient requirement. This is where the numbered Silkworm Farms comes in. For each Silkworm Farm you want to feed, you will need an entry for the farm number and the nutrient. Once you complete the farm numbering in the config_thistle.txt, will not have to do it again; only the thistle requirements will need to be updated.
Now that you have your config_thistle.txt set up, you can move to the next step.
Step 3
Automato Thistle Mode
Open and run Thistle Mode in Automato:
1. 2. 3.
Step 4
Open history.txt
In the Automato main folder there is now a file called history.txt. This is the instruction manual for all of the available thistle combinations using only water. At the bottom of the file, you'll see the Silkworm Farm labels (OB 1, OB 2, etc), the nutrient requirements for that farm, the total actions / minimum available actions for each recipe (don't worry about this right now), and either a Day (D), Day/Night (*), or Not Available (-) indicator.
Daytime is between 8:20 AM to 3:50 PM - Egypt Time. Times outside of this range will not produce enough sunlight for daytime recipes. Nighttime recipes can be run at anytime because the recipe does not rely on sunlight. Not Available recipes cannot be made without the addition of dung and/or saltpeter into the recipe configuration, and even then they still may not be possible.
