I've struggled a lot with the making of gearboxes. I did find a guidefrom T3 (http://www.atitd.org/wiki/tale3/Users/EldradUlthran/Gearbox_Guide) and some explanations here: http://www.atitd.org/wiki/tale6/Gearbox_Design_Guide and http://www.atitd.org/wiki/tale6/Gearbox.
Still I kept having problems and mostly tried them on a trial/error basis, which most of the times got me frustated :) so eventually, when I did manage to make them, I tried to write this guide.
