Enter the arena for a practice session of Zhadu, a game of strategy.
Starting: To begin a game, click the board and choose a nearby opponent. The game will start when the same opponent chooses you.
Stones: When the game begins, your stones will be lined up along the center of the board. They are, from top to bottom, the 4 Stone, the 3 Stone, the 123 Stone, the 2 Stone, and the 1 Stone.
Setup: The game starts with a setup phase in which you and your opponent take turns placing your stones into their starting positions. To place a stone, click on it, then click on the starting position to put it in, then click the gear at the center of the board. Valid starting positions are the four dots in the triangle at the end of your side of the board, and the center dot of the triangle adjacent to it.
Moves: Once all stones are positioned, the game begins. You must move one of your stones per turn. A stone must move a number of spaces equal to its value; no more, and no less. The 123 Stone works like a wildcard and can be moved one, two, or three spaces at the owner's desire. A single "space" can either be (a) any of the other unoccupied dots within the triangle the stone is in, or (b) if the stone is on a corner dot, an adjacent unoccupied corner dot in another triangle. A stone may not pass through a dot occupied by another stone, but may come to rest on a dot occupied by one of your opponent's stones. If this happens, the opponent's stone is "captured", and removed from the board. To move, click a stone, click each of the dots to move it to in turn, and then click the gear in the center of the board.
Goal: Your opponent is defeated if the values of the first stone you captured and the last stone you captured sum to exactly four. The 123 Stone is a wildcard that can be valued any of one, two, or three. Capture of your opponent's 4 Stone results in victory only if it is the first stone you capture.
Timer: Click the board to see the timers. If your timer runs out, your opponent may claim victory at any time.
Details: With more wins than losses, you will advance to the next rank. Three losses at your current rank and you will be eliminated from the tournament.

Nkosi: Good evening Egypt. My name is Nkosi, of the Royal Accounting Board. I've been released from my duties of counting Pharaoh's personal grain pile for long enough to bring you the results of this evening's second Zhadu tournament.
Nkosi: Our joint winners, at Rank 5, are InambaGuum and Numaris. By the flip of a coin, Numaris walked away with the Portable Cornerstone.
Nkosi: Rounding out the Top 7 at Rank 4 are Skyfeather and Sonea.

Kanivan Tak Tournament

Command your avian army! Advance on your opponent, hatch your deadly birds of prey, and rule the field in a game of Kanivan Tak.
Kanivan Tak is a strategic game of positioning and spatial estimation. Play is similar to the board came Checkers, the largest exception being that the pieces are not resticted to moving diagonally on a grid; they may move in any direction that is generally forward.
Moving: Click one of your Taks. The red and black arrows change the angle in which your piece will move. When you are satisfied with your choice, click the green button to execute the move and end your turn.
Capturing: Under the right circumstances, you may jump one of your opponent's Taks to capture it and remove it from the board. The opponent's Tak must be in a legal moving direction from your Tak, and your Tak must be able to jump completely over the piece and not land on another piece or outside the board. To capture, click your Tak's gold wings button, then click the opponent's Tak to jump. You may chain multiple jumps together in a single turn if possible. To finish your turn once you have jumped, click your Tak.
Promoting: If your Tak comes close enough to your opponent's end of the board, it hatches into a promoted Tak. It may now move and capture in any direction.
Endgame: You can achieve decisive victory by capturing all of your opponent's Taks. The game may also end if 5 consecutive moves (3 from one player, 2 from the other) pass without either a non-promoted Tak moving, or a Tak being captured. If the game ends in this manner, the player with the most remaining Taks wins. You can check the number of moves remaining on the countdown at the Kanivan Tak desk at your board.
Details: You will advance to the next rank when you have one more win than your losses at the current rank. Two losses at a rank eliminates you from the tournament.
