The Cement Garden

A guild set up by Artinum to help players new and old gather and mix the ingredients for cement. This is virtually impossible for lone players and very few people seem to be making it now.

How it works

Sign up to the guild at its headquarters in Old Egypt (1059, 6926), just NE of the chariot stop. Signing up is not compulsory but it will mean you'll have access to the guild chat and get messages about times and locations (and can chat with fellow cement seekers).

Cement involves three stages, and this guild is to help organise and coordinate all three.

Bauxite

One component of cement is bauxite. This can only be found through an organised dig (steam shovels will not help here) on the eastern edge of Egypt. A dig location is yet to be arranged.

Please bring along grilled onions and a high quality shovel if you can - slate shovels will be available if anyone needs them.

Digs will last for one hour. Please be on time as the more diggers we have, the more goodies we'll dig up. At the end of the hour, the bauxite and stones gathered are divided up amongst the diggers. If you can only attend for part of the time, you will receive a proportional amount.

Gypsum

As with bauxite, but on the western side of Egypt. Digs take place at a public dig site in Valley of the Kings (VoK), near the Chariot Stop - location (-2254, 7145).

This works the same way as the previous section.

Mixing Cement

The hardest part of the process is the mixing itself, which is done at the guild's compound (still to be constructed - Artinum). All cement seekers will be involved in stirring the cement, a heavy labour that will rapidly punish your END timer. A kitchen will be available if anyone can cook high END food; failing that, we'll manage best we can with grilled onions and weight of numbers.

If you want to share in the cement, please bring along a donation of 10 bauxite and 10 gypsum. Donations of clinker are also welcome as we'll need 800 of the stuff every batch.

Once completed, the cement will be shared out amongst all participants. We will make as many batches as we can within the hour and share the proceeds at the end.

How can I help?

Aside from turning up and helping with the hard labour, you can help by providing food, shovels (for digs), clinker (for cement) and boards/bricks to expand the guild hall. Currently the guild has room for 20 members.
