My current project is incense research. For many tales, the wiki has noted that adding Petals of Ra to incense can change its feeling, yet I have not found anything more than that. Time to poke at it and see what comes out!

Observed incense feelings this tale are: Gentle, Giddy, Guilty, Hopeful, Invigorating, Melancholious, Mischievious, Relaxed, Serene, Sorrowful, Suspicious, Troubled, Vengeful.

I will be testing with the University roses: GL=Goldenleaves, HB=Hatch's Bud, NB=Night Bloom, OS=Onion Skin, PA=Pantomime, PG=Pink Giant, RD=Red Dwarf, WG=White Giant, and if released, BH=Blood Heart, DB=Dawn's Blush, and HD=Heart of Darkness.

Here is my raw data. There's now way too much data to make it worth posting here. Hoping to find patterns and create a better way to show them. So far, adding petals seems to change the quality and sometimes the feeling.

Possible patterns:

  • I have seen some consistency in some of the feeling changes. I am working on a model that reflects these changes, perhaps a path or a circle to be travelled along.
  • Some feeling changes are rapid, and in some tests the feeling has not changed at all. No test has gone beyond adding 20 petals of the same rose.
  • The concept of starting points may be useful in predicting feeling changes.
