Action icons are clickable options that appear on the top left corner of your screen.

Dowsing		When carrying a Dowsing Rod, this is used to locate veins of metal ore. It starts a Focus timer. Focus helps you dowse more often. Constitution helps you detect a larger area.
Grass		Mainly used for drying into straw. Can be collected whenever you are in a grassy area. Clicking it will collect you 1 grass. You cannot gather grass in the same spot twice consecutively, after you gather grass, you will need to move a bit until you see the "grass" icon again to collect more grass. The skill Rhythmic Strength improves grass-collecting capability. After manually harvesting 500 grass, you gain the option to automatically accumulate it as an offline chore.
Sand		Appears when standing on a patch of sand. Click it and the game will ask you for the quantity of sand you would like to pick up. Enter a number or click the Max button to get 100 db. Most of the sand you can pick up is basic, however in some special locations, the sand becomes Red Sand or White Sand.
Mud		Found near most water sources. Click it and the game will ask you for the quantity of mud you would like to pick up. Enter a number or click the Max button to get 100 db.
Slate		It is especially crucial to new players working toward Citizenship, but it is also used in more advanced buildings and activities, such as prospecting for marble. Slate is found randomly near water. After manually gathering 1000 slate, you will gain the option to accumulate it automatically as an offline chore.
Water		While standing near a source of water with empty jugs in inventory, you get the "fill jug with water" icon. Clicking will turn your Jugs into Water in Jugs. While carrying Water in Jugs there is an option in your "Skills.." menu "Empty Jugs.." to get the empty jugs back. Also used to carry sulphurous water and needed to gather clay.
