Preface
I didn't anticipate finding much of an interest in wine making when I began fiddling with it, so my start hasn't been ideal. However over time, the more I read and the more questions I ask Silden, I'm starting to learn more. Also to my surprise i found wine making interesting. My initial purpose in getting into wine was running the Alembic to produce Spirits for the Assimilation Bath. I therefor began with Pascalito#356 for lower spirits and Tedra#388 for the Higher ones.
Experiments
I ran a few test runs and just made spirits out of them. However I started to instabottle 2 bottle per vineyard i have (24) I'm happy to say I have completed my initial vintages to test flavors on each vineyard. I did however use the two vine cuttings listed above still to produce them. I used the extra grapes from each to concoct a few wine varieties to actually run( the first of which are using Pascalito#356. So i do not expect very high alcohol.
I will use the space below to document my finding when the time comes to test the flavor (Vintage +5 [Vintage Number 69 for Vineyards #1-#12 and 70 for #13-#24] and +10 [Vintage Number 74 for Vineyards #1-#12 and 75 for #13-#24] )
In the Mean Time
I started experiments with
- Mali1 (need tending table??) on Vineyard #13
- merek#14 on Vineyard #14
- Pascalito#6 on Vineyard #15
- Basilius#1 on Vineyard #19
- Basilius#4 on Vineyard #20
- Tedra#603 on Vineyards #18,#23,#24
Wine Flavors
My initial test bottles I made for spirits were tasted and found to have Butter and Menthol Flavors. Though these were harvested and barrelled as a group of all the Tedra#388 which would have been vineyards #1-#12
