Mummification is an important and deeply spiritual practice in Egyptian life. As Egyptians we have taken great pains to preserve the legacy of our monuments, and it is time that we devote the same energy and attention to preserving the memories of our citizens.
Brief Description
The test consists in getting a cadaver from the university of worship, and giving it a proper burial. The test is intended for a group of 4 players, each receiving part of the instruction and requiring them to get together and figure out the proper treatment and ritual. The cadaver requires specific treatments of salt, perfume and embalming fluid (a cocktail of wine and two other ingredients)).
Then the body needs to be wrapped into bandages (made out of thread in a Student's Loom or Hand Loom). Each cadaver lasts 24 hours before it is no longer suitable to be mummified. Once the cadaver is mummified, it requires a burial ceremony. The ceremony should take place at an alter location selected by the University of Worship from which the body was obtained. To begin the ceremony, the mummy needs to be presented to the university for examination. After being deemed worthy, the ceremony could commence, consisting of burning spirits in a brazier, burning incense, reciting a prayer, and an action and offering for the afterlife.
Test description at University of Worship
By the exact words of the scientists (pop up when you start the test): "Form a ritual group with 3 other priest. The lead priest may obtain a cadaver from the Great University of worship and each priest then helps to prepare the body for the afterlife. After preperations are approved by the university mortician, each Priest will then be given part of the burial ritual. Each priest must perform the entire ritual in the correct order at the specified altar to prepare the spirit for the afterlife. Finally the deceased is laid to rest in a santified Ka Tomb. Complete 7 rituals to advance."

The test will require:
- Linen Bandage - between 10 and 20 for each cadaver. Bandage is made from 5,000 Thread in a Loom

- Embalming Fluid - made from wine of at least 12% Alcohol and at least 2 vintages old, combined with two other ingredients in a Kitchen, the other ingredients being two of:
Demonstration
Demonstration of the principle requires:

10 embalming fluid (any kind)Embalming Fluid only becomes available after test opened.- 1 of each spirit type (fish, mineral, vegetable, grain, worm, wood, rock, fruit)
- 10 incense (any kind)
- 100 salt
- 10 perfume (any kind)
(From Fireside chat by Pluribus: I took some ingredients for embalming fluid and the mats for one bandage and added them to the list
Detailed Ritual
Passing the test requires that the following ritual be performed 7 times, not necessarily by the same priests.
A group of 4 players are required. The player who will be Priest 1 starts the group by selecting Tests > Test of the Mummifcation > Start a Ritual.
- Each of the other three players need to click on Priest 1, and select Tests > Test of the Mummification > Ask to join the group
- The order of Priest 2, Priest 3, Priest 4 will be determined by the order in which Priest 1 accepts the request.
- When the request is accepted, there will be one of two main messages: <Player> has joined the ritual group as the 2nd priest or You are the 2nd priest of the ritual group as appropriate.
- Note: there is no main message to Priest 1, Priest 2 or Priest 3 to indicate that Priest 4 has joined the group.
- You can verify you have successfully signed to the group by checking Selt > Tests > Test of the Mummification and note that you have a single menu option, "Leave the ritual group".
- Note: there is no other mechanism to indicate who is in your group. Note: it is still possible for Priest 1 to try and join another group.
- Priest 1 goes to the University of Worship and asks for a cadaver.
- Once the cadaver is acquired, Priest 1 will receive a popup box (see right) which indicates the action that each priest needs to perform. This instruction will be in the form of:
- Priest 1, the amount of salt required (50 - 100 db)
- Priest 2, the ingredients of the embalming fluid
- Priest 3, the perfume required
- Priest 4, the number of bandages required
the members of the group will each receive instructions on their portion of the ritual.(No mention on our groups, who were not at UWorship when the cadaver was obtained - do you need to be at UWorship to get a copy of the instructions? Silden 11:55, 14 August 2017 (EST))
- The ritual must be completed within 24 hours (possibly 28 hours, based on our experiences Silden 11:55, 14 August 2017 (EST)) or the body will begin to degrade. If the ritual is not completed, all members must wait an additional 24 hours before beginning the ritual again.
Note: When the first player selects Form a group, they will be unable to use any form of waypoint travel until they disband the group.(although every attempt to use waypoint travel will say checking ritual, it was possible for priest 1 to waypoint to and from the university, and use spouse travel, expedition travel and travel home during the altar phase in the middle of the steps required)
- For a priest to perform their action, the cadaver will need to be passed from priest to priest. The application of the salt/embalming fluid/perfume/bandages is done by using Self > Tests > Test of the Ritual Mummification
Ritual Mummification:
Priest 1: Rub the body with salt (approx 50-100 db of salt)
Priest 2: Treat the body with embalming fluid (requirements listed above)
Priest 3: Apply perfume to the body (random citrus)
Priest 4: Wrap the body in bandages (10-20 bandages)
Priest 1: Return to the University of Worship from which the cadaver was obtained and get the mortician approval.
Burial Ceremony:
Once the group have made the mummy correctly, the University will provide the group with information about the deceased from the family, as well as their wish for the burial, including the alter location they wish the ceremony to be performed. Each priest will receive part of the ritual and they will need to figure out the proper sequence.
- Each Priest can click on Self > Test > Test of the Ritual Mummification > See ritual requirements to see the specific requirement, each priest being slightly different, for example:
- Priest 1: At the altar located in Seven Lakes 699, -1530, at the appropriate time, each priest must light guilty feeling 371+ quality in an incense burner
- Priest 2: At the altar located in Seven Lakes 699, -1530, at the appropriate time, each priest must sacrifice Gull chime
- Priest 3: At the altar located in Seven Lakes 699, -1530, at the appropriate time,
- Priest 1 recites the prayer: We commit to you the body of Nehsey, loved husband of Iput, master Fisherman and a pillar of the Nut community
- Priest 2: Nehesy, loved husband of Iput will be dearly missed. Nehesy was a Fisherman and a pillar of Four Corners.
- Priest 3: Loving husband of Iput in their names we bid you farewell!
- Priest 4: May Nut comfort Iput as they grieve for the loss of their husband.
- Priest 4: At the altar located in Seven Lakes 699, -1530, at the appropriate time, each priest must light a spirit brazier with jug of fruit spirits of life
- Each priest must; light a brazier with the proper spirit, light incense, recite the proper ritual chant (below), and place the offering to the altar(random fancy item similar on messenger). After all four priests have completed the ritual in the proper sequence, all priests must meditate.
- Once the ritual is successful, the mummy must be brought to a passed Ka Tomb and lay it to rest there. You can check if a Ka Tomb has passed by checking the Passes Log.
Idea for the ritual chants
The information about the deceased and their family is used to make up the ritual chants. The group receives the name of family member(randomly generated) such as parent, spouse, and children. The group also receives their profession, cause of death, interests, and the Egyptian Gods they worshiped.
It resultant chants may look something like this;
- Tufet, son of Akum and Nufteth, died (a few days before the acquisition of body in Egyptian Game Time) of (random cause).
((May (Egyptian God Worshiped) comfort Akum and Nufteth as they grieve for the loss of their son/daughter.))
- Loved spouse of Huteth he/she will be dearly missed, he/she was (profession) and a pillar of (region)
((We commit to you the body of Tufet, loved spouse of Huteth, master (profession), and pillar of the (religious) community.))
- Loving father/mother of Askesh and Tufuth, in their names we bid you fair well.
- May Horus grant you his blessing and welcome you into the afterlife
