• A Mutagen SWAPS one gene from each plant being crossed

WE are going to make a Crown have Magenta shade 3 Inner West Petal and a Cyan shade 3 Inner East Petal for our first one.

TO To do This we need to change the UROR on Crown to URRR

• Crown Genome: (Length 37)

As you can see the 28th gene, the 32nd gene and the 36th genes (in bold print) need to be changed.

• We will be Changing the 28th gene first in this recipe. First we need to know the splint ranges that will move the 28th gene.
  • To determine that you have two options. Option 1 is do the math
    • Formula for Minimum Range is:
      • (X-1) / L * 100% (Note: X=gene# L=Genome Length)
    • Formula for Maximum Range is:
      • X / L * 100% (Note: X=Gene# L=Genome Length)
  • Option 2 is use the splint range chart found on GRRT Sealilies page: http://www.atitd.org/wiki/tale7/GRRT_Sealilies_Gene-Ranges#Sea_Lily_Genome_and_Gene_Ranges
• We have found that to move the 28th we need a Mutagen that has splint ranges between 72.97% - 75.68%.
  • Now we go to http://www.atitd.org/wiki/tale7/GRRT_Mutagen_Research_and_Recipes#MUTAGENS_Splint_Ranges and find the mutagen has the splint ranges between 72.97% - 75.68%
• The mutagen I have picked is #25 Calico, Spongy, Spotted the left splint ranges are 93.40% - 94.29% and the right splint ranges are 73.08% - 73.18%. The Right Splint ranges are between the gene ranges we need.
  • Next step is to find a Lily that has an R in its genome that is between our chosen mutagens (in this case) Left splint range of 93.40% - 94.29%.
    • Look at the gene range page:http://www.atitd.org/wiki/tale7/GRRT_Sealilies_Gene-Ranges#Sea_Lily_Genome_and_Gene_Ranges to find a lily that has the R in the 93.40% - 94.29%. There are several to choose from. Clarity (34th), Crown (35th), Morning (42nd), Dusk (69th), and Crimson (100th) NOTE: I choose the one that I have the most bulbs in stock. In this case I chose Morning.
    • Now to make the cross we will put Morning (or your selected lily from the above choices) on the left splint and Crown on the Right splint then apply mutagen Calico, Spongy, Spotted NOTE: ALWAYS start on the LEFT SPLINT first with mutagens you get 2 children flowers back. the Left splint will have the lowest number and the Right splint will have the highest number EXAMPLE: Rania#25 (from left child of Morning) and Rania#26 (from right Child of Crown)
