Flowers are decorative plants that can be placed on the ground like Buildings, and reproduced by adding Flower Fertilizer. They are received, carried and planted as Bulbs. With sufficient technological advances, they can be crossbred to produce new strains of varying sizes and colors.

Types

University-Given

The University of Worship in each region offers a specific strain of bulb type once it has researched the required technology.

The two types of flower bulbs offered are:

You may request 1 Sea Lily bulb and 1 Rose of Ra bulb per character.

If you want any additional strains, you'll have to trade for them.

Reproduction

Want more flowers or different sizes/colors? You can reproduce the varieties you have through fertilization. You can fiddle with your flowers' genetics to produce new strains with Crossbreeding and also Mutagenics.

Genomes of each flower type have been worked out in previous tellings and can be manipulated through Crossbreeding and Mutagenics to vary the look of flowers.

Trading

Probably the best method of getting flowers is via trade; there are many crossbreeders who have new strains of flowers for you to plant and/or cross. This is quite useful if you are interested in crossbreeding. Using hybrid bulbs that current breeders have developed means you can advance the progress of breeding rather than redoing the same basic crosses they've done. This means you can reach what would otherwise be difficult color/size combinations more quickly. So do a little homework, and contact breeders.

Petals

If you select 'Harvest for Petals' in the menu, it destroys the plant and gives you a petal of the appropriate type:

Notes

If you purchase the Botanist's Touch skill, you will be able to uproot any flower you own. Any fertilizations accrued will be lost.
