Guilds/OASIS/MEMBERSHIP EQUIPMENT RANK

Membership
- You do not have to live in the Oasis camp to join our guild. However, you will not raise above the rank of initiate if you are not an active, participating member and/or have joined for chat purposes only.
Rank
- A paid account in good standing is required for ALL ranks above Initiate.
- You must spend a minimum of one Real Time week at the rank of Initiate before you may be promoted. You may receive a maximum of one promotion per week, but it is rare for anyone to be promoted that quickly; this would indicate they have been due for promotion for some time.
- Minimum requirements for rank means you have to have these qualifications before you will even be considered for promotion. It does NOT mean that once you have these you are "due" for promotion. It means you are eligible to be promoted when it is decided that you have earned a promotion.
- In general, you will be considered to have earned a promotion when you are demonstrating the characteristics of people at the next rank. For example, when a Member passes 2 tests, and exhibits a mature outlook, he/she is eligible for promotion. If he/she then takes on leadership on occasion and demonstrate that he/she is a contributing member, it is likely he/she will be promoted soon.
- If you leave the guild and then return, you will return as an Initiate and work your way up again, unless prior arrangements are agreed to in advance.
- You may have your mules in the guild if you wish. Their rank will be the same as yours. If you leave, they must leave immediately as well.
- You are responsible for any actions taken by your avatar. This means that if someone else logs you in and does something against guild policy, you are responsible for that. If your spouse is logged as you that is also true.
- One final note: While there is no formal activity requirement for any rank below Patriarch, please note that to be promoted you do need to be logging in and participating in the guild somehow. If you are up for promotion but then absent for a while, your promotion will come some time after you have returned. Thanks. :)
- Rank Chart:
Rank | Minimum Requirements | Responsibilities and Comments |
---|---|---|
Initiate | Breathing (lol) | Learn your basic skills, and make the most of advice people give you. You are not expected to contribute to the guild, however if you would like to, what we could most use is you refraining from complaints about your inability to access all of the guild warehouses. We have spent a great deal of time gathering/making these materials and use them or make them available as we feel is appropriate. Your journey towards being a contributing part of this guild is to learn how to make them yourself. |
Associate | Level 4 | You have to have a paid account, have played for a minimum of 2 weeks and have been active in the guild community. You have responded well to guidance and shown that you will become a contributing part of the community soon. |
Member | Level 8 | You are becoming a contributing part of the community and take initiative where possible. You contribute through ideas and support of other members in guild chat as well as through contribution of raw materials when possible and help with guild chores. |
Kinsman | Pass 2 Tests | Exhibit mature outlook. You are beginning to step into the Guild Leadership on occasion. You may be asked to lead projects or take on roles within the Guild which place you in charge of other people. No one needs to explain to you what contributions are appropriate because you have seen that already from watching others, or you know to ask for guidance in specific matters, if needed. |
Fellow | Consistently exhibits mature outlook and perspective. | Demonstrates leadership. While you are firmly in Guild Leadership, you may have many other concerns that prevent you from being extremely active. That's fine, we're just glad to have you around when you can help out. |
Patriarch | Chosen at the discretion of the Elders | You are a 'back up' Elder. Patriarchs are expected to repair or replace broken equipment and help maintain the cps. They organize and lead guild projects, such as digs and gathering mats for new guild equipment. They make sure the warehouses and chests for lower ranking members are kept supplied, either by making/gathering them or by enlisting the help of other members. You model what this guild is all about. You are expected to be quite active. |
Elder | Chosen at the discretion of the other Elders | The Leaders, and ergo Servants, of the Guild. Final responsibility for everything that happens rests with them. They should demonstrate what this guild is about in their daily lives. Actively work to support the guild on a daily or weekly basis and foster the overall well-being of the guild. Ensure that the Patriarch/Elder warehouses and chests are stocked either by making/gathering them or by enlisting the help of other members. |
- If at any time you feel as though your rank should be raised, please let an Elder know - we try to keep up with everyone's rank status but it is possible that we've gotten so busy rank elevations haven't occurred as they should.
Warehouses and Materials
Remember: Only take what you need, leave the rest, replace as you can. None of the items in our warehouses & chests came from the Nile fairies, another member has gathered or made them.
These are general guidelines on the use of guild resources. Please use good, common-sense. Just because there's 2K of iron in a warehouse, you shouldn't assume its ok for you to take it all.. that type of selfish behavior will get you removed from the guild, fast.
- Items for consumption by members for non-guild use include,
- Bricks left in the brick machines - PLEASE CHECK TO SEE IF ANYONE HAS BEEN MAKING BRICKS FOR A PROJECT BEFORE REMOVING .. also, if you are making bricks for a personal or guild project and don't want them available for public use make sure you announce it in guild chat.
- Grass and straw in greenhouses or hammocks (unless we note the camels are getting low); saltpeter in the tubs, cooked food in the kitchens, supplies in the Basic Supply warehouse behind the guild hall, any materials in the Flax house central warehouse, any food stuffs in the Grub Shack central warehouse
- Any items left in a chest or warehouse, set at your rank or below .. again, take what you need, leave the rest, replace as you can. Anyone selfishly taking large quantities of materials for personal use at one time will be subject to removal from the guild. If you need large quatities of an item, check with a Patriarch or Elder, or simply make/gather it yourself.
- If a chest or warehouse is not set so you can access it is because we are conserving those assets for guild project use.... OR some member has abused the guild's generousity and has taken mass quatities of materials for their personal use and we are working to determine the source of the problem. If there is something you need that you think the guild can help you with, let a Patriarch or Elder know, if materials aren't set aside for a guild project we'll do our best to help you.
- Items NOT to be taken by any guidee at any time includes any material in a designted project chest or warehouse. If we have gathered and set aside those materials for a specific project(s) then they are to be left in storage until we are ready to use them. Violators will be demoted or removed from the guild on recommendatin of Patriarchs and at the discretion of the Elders. (This excludes the mine and building repair mat chests and warehouses, which can be used at anytime to repair and/or maintain guild buildings/equipment.)
Equipment
- We have a large amount of equipment and mines, some are set so that various member ranks can use them, whether you are an Initiate, Associate or Member. The higher your rank, the more resources become available for your use.
- Some of our mines and other equipment are set for Patriarch or Elder use because they are set aside for guild projects only such as, building or maintaining equipment or because we have only limited number of that type and are conserving the asset. If you cannot access a mine or piece of equipment because of your membership rank and need that resource, please contact a Patriarch or Elder and we'll make every effort to help you with what you require.
Demotions in Rank / Removal from Guild
- You may be demoted immediately by any Elder for:
- Rude or hateful behavior or speech in guild chat. This includes, but is not limited to, calling another guild member names.
- Failing to cooperate with an Elder (or, in the absence of any Elders, the highest ranked guild members present) when asked to stop a conversation, series of actions, or anything else that, in that leader's opinion, is causing serious problems in the guild chat.
- While it is possible that you may be reinstated after further review, whining about it is not going to help your case. Calm and respectful discussion is most likely to get you what you want.
- Offenses that may result in expulsion:
- Destruction of guild equipment
- The unreasonable taking of guild materials. If you use our warehouses as a one stop shop to stock your personal supply. We share our resources here and won't tolerate anyone who acts in a greedy and selfish manner. If you somehow don't understand what is meant by this, please feel free to chat Sharae.
- Threatening violence to another guild member.
- Creating a drama in guild chat over personal issues which should have been resolved in private may result in immediate expulsion. Everyone deserves to be free of this sort of nonsense and we are not tolerating it, not even if you are right.
- Other unacceptable behaviors on the recommendation of a Patriarch or at the discretion of the Elders.
- Removal due to Inactive Account may occur if you:
- Have a trial account and have not logged into it for 14 days
- Have a paid account and have not logged into it for 60 days
- Had a paid account, now expired, and is open to ECA status
- If at any time you are removed from the guild due to Inactive Account status and come back, you will be welcomed, and retain the rank of Initiate. In the event you are going on holiday, vacation or need time away from the game, and we know this in advance of time, you will retain your rank at the time you departed.
