(This is version 1 of this wiki page, please modify with additional information.)
An improved version of rock saws, with a much larger capacity. It is fueled with Petroleum, (works faster?), and can be further upgraded.
Source
This building becomes available once you have learned the Steam Mechanics technology.
Cost
In addition to the base cost to construct, the Steam Rock Saw requires Petroleum as a fuel source when running. The hopper is configurable for both Cuttable Stones and Medium Stones.
Initial Construction
- 1000 Hard, Rigid, Fireproof Treated Boards
- 1 High Pressure Steam Engine
- 500 Clay Bricks
- 1000 Firebricks
- 100 Cement
- 500 Concrete
- 49 Steel Bars
- 15 Lubricating Oil
- 250 Water in Jugs
- 49 Small Gears
- 7 Medium Gears
- 1 Large Gears
- 1 Random 3 output Gearbox
A non-upgraded Steam Rock Saw's hopper can hold 250 Cuttable Stones or Medium Stones
Upgrade and Enlarge Hopper
- 50 Steel Bars
- 500 Hard, Rigid, Fireproof Treated Boards
- 150 Plaster
- 150 Concrete
- 25 Iron Strap
- 100 Octec's Alloy Wire
After upgrading the hopper, the Steam Rock Saw can hold 500 Cuttable Stones or Medium Stones
After the upgrade fuel consumption is unchanged
Further Upgrade and Enlarge Hopper
- 150 Bolt
- 150 Washer
- 100 Steel Bars
- 500 Hard, Rigid, Fireproof Treated Boards
- 25 Iron Bars
- 35 Copper Pipe
- 50 Iron Strap
This upgrade expands the hopper to hold 1000 Cuttable Stones or Medium Stones
After the upgrade fuel consumption is unchanged
Upgrade to allow Marble cutting
- 1500 Powdered Diamond
Use
The Steam Rock Saw can be fueled with 1000 Petroleum at a time.
- No tuning and no Springbox, the saw appears to take 1 Petroleum immediately, produces 1 cut stone per 3 min and use 1 Petroleum every 5 min. [Zotep]
- Tuned to Level 1 with no Springbox, the saw appears to have the same stats as no tuning and no springbox. [Zotep]
- Tuned to Level 2 with no Springbox, the saw appears to take 1 Petroleum immediately, produces 1 cut stone per 1.5 min and use 1 Petroleum every 5 min. [Zotep]
- Tuned to Level 3 with no Springbox, the saw appears to take 1 Petroleum immediately, produces 1 cut stone per 1 min and use 1 Petroleum every 5 min. [Zotep]
- Tuned to Level 3 with a Q9158 Springbox, the saw appears to take 1 Petroleum immediately, produces 3.3 cut stone per 1 min (avg) and use 1 Petroleum every 5 min. [Zotep]
- Tuned to Level 3 with a Q9158 Springbox, produces 1 crucible per 1 min. [Zotep]
Other Upgrades
Like other automated buildings, it may be tuned and upgraded with a Springbox.
