Overview

VineSim is a Google Spreadsheet for tracking up to 25 vineyard states and tends, and the resulting grape stats.

How to Use

• Access the VineSim spreadsheet.
• File > Make a copy.
• The Instructions tab gives an overview of the tabs.

Versions

• Added column on Yard Tabs to mark rows that you have completed, as well as where you should stop.
• Added Balance and Frivolity tend tables.

Updating your sheets

• Tend Tables
  • Copy/paste the tables on the Balance and Frivolity tabs into their respective tabs.
• Row markers on Yard tabs
  1. Copy cells B6:B56 from the new version.
  2. On your first Yard tab, select column C and then "Insert 1 left."
  3. Place your cursor in cell B6 and Paste.
  4. Resize column B if desired.
  5. Repeat steps 2-4 for each yard.

• Added Flavor Summary tab for recording your found flavors for each vineyard.
• Added Appreciation tend tables.

Updating your sheets

• Tend tables
  • Copy/paste the tables on the Appreciation tab into your Appreciation tab.
• Flavor Summary tab
  1. Copy/paste the Lookup tab content into your Lookup tab.
  2. On the Flavor Summary tab, click on the tab and select "Copy to..." and select your spreadsheet. This will place the new tab at the end, but you can move it to where you want it by dragging or using the "Move left" command.
     • Alternatively, create a new tab where you want it, name it Flavor Summary and then copy/paste the content onto it.

• Added conditional formatting to yard sheets to turn empty tend cells to red/red text when you select "Yes" in the Done cell (J2). Hopefully this will help prevent over tending.

Updating your sheets

You may apply the conditional formatting to your already-in-progress sheet as follows:

1. Select any yard tab
2. Select cells C7:C56 (the tend cells)
3. Select menu Format > Conditional Formatting...
4. Select "Add new rule"
5. Choose "Custom formula is" at the bottom of the "Format cells if..." dropdown
6. Type (or copy/paste) this formula: =AND($J$2="Yes",ISBLANK($C7))
7. Pick a font color ("A" menu) and background color (paintcan menu) that will scream "Don't tend here!" to you. :)
8. Select "Done"

Once you have one sheet done, you can select the tend cells again (C7:C56), copy, and then paste them on each other yard sheet.

NOTE: Be sure to select "Paste special... Paste conditional formatting only" if you have already entered some tends into a sheet.

• Fixed a calculation error on the Grapes Summary tab.

Updating your sheets

You may copy the blue cells in Columns I and J (Bottles and Extra) from the updated sheet to your personal sheet, without affecting anything else.
