I believe Umopepisdn's Theory about scents existing on a linear axis is correct. However, I believe the scents go Citrus > Musk > Pine > Jasmine > Flowers Other scents have also been observed, but I'm unsure where they fall into this line. It's also possible that the order depends on the individual.
The effect of a resin on the Quality is partially dependent upon the scent. This can be seen here. Under different scents, the quality will rise and fall at a faster rate.
Mosen has an interesting theory regarding scent transitions being trivial to accomplish at q0. However I think that the ability to 'reinforce' a scent, and thus make it harder to revert poses a problem to his theory. Scent reinforcing at 0 quality
Scents can be divided into two groups: primary and secondary. Primary scents are Pine, Flowers, Musk, and Clover. Secondary scents are Citrus, Jasmine, Honey, and Opium.
After analyzing the available data on scent transitions, I no longer believe that scents are on a linear axis. Below is a mapping of all the scent transitions that have been observed.

From this, I arranged the scents on a tetrahedron, with the primary scents at the verticies. A secondary scent is placed at the center of each side of the tetrahedon, forming an insribed secondary tetrahedron.

All known scent transitions may now be traced on the surface of the tetrahedron Shortly after coming up with this theory I observed a scent change from honey to opium which either invalidates this diagram, or makes it useless.
A consequence of the tetrahedron theory is that any Primary scent may be changed to any other Primary scent, and to all but one of the Secondary scents. Any Secondary scent may only be changed to one of the three adjacent Primary scents.
