1/29/2009 Today we put up the two Hand Looms in the Flax House. A quick round of flaxing was completed and the loom test was: SUCCESSFUL! The Student Loom was gleefully torn down - no more broken twine repairs. Kalateth got out our stash of nails and built 3 Hackling Racks and the Flax Combs quickly followed the Student Loom into oblivion. In the end Linen Heaven was achieved! iziz has been mastering the mysteries of growing vegetables: Onions and Cabbages have been conquered. Shu did a run to the limestone pit - well it was a run down there but once there the action is painfully slow. Then both iziz and Shu got their Principles of Obelisk done - great thanks to Kalateth for setting up the kit!

1/27/2009 It was a busy mats grinding day today. - (what's new in Egypt) <hehe> And we took delivery of our order from SA Ironworks for 4 loom frames (good bye student loom) and cookpots for our kitchens!

1/26/2009 Shu and iziz went copper mining! Yippee! The first "copper" was smelted in no time at all!

1/25/2009 iziz, Kalateth and Shu did a round of Mats-Grinding today. Kalateth was churning out firebricks faster than iziz and Shu could gather silt!. 2 more Carpentry Shops (total 6) were added to the Brick House and a small box was made to hold extra Carpentry Blades (hmmm is that a hint for Shu? <hehe>). Then we hit the iron mines and brought back loads for processing. Later on, Shu went shroom hunting and found a copper vien! Now SKI Lodge has 2 copper mines!

1/24/2009 SKI had a Building Party with iziz, Kalateth and Shu! First iziz and Shu made 1500+ nails for Kalateth's Improved Brick Rack Project! Then Kalateth did his magic placement of the IBRacks. Then we added 4 new pottery wheels giving us a total of 6. We moved some chests in the Brick Shed for the Feng Shui effect. And topping it all off, we made our first Small Warehouse near the kitchens in the Flax House. Gratz to ALL for their hard work and efforts! And as an extra bonus a full Blacksmithing setup was acquired from SA Ironworks! Shu turned out the first Carpentry Blades!

1/23/2009 iziz and Shu mined up a storm and got all the iron needed for the Nails Project! There was a bit of a panic at one point when we could not open the bullet furnace but the Devs fixed it right away! Kudos to the Devs! iziz got zapped too! She's Level 5 now!

1/22/2009 Kalateth's Nail Project is about 75% complete for raw mats. Almost time to fire up the forges!

1/21/2009 Completed the set up of 10 bullet furnaces in the metal shop! Mined several loads of iron ore and processed it in our new furnaces!

1/20/2009 Shu and iziz hit the "dig" trail and scored on 3 digs! We got lots of good loots - enough to make a lot of much needed machines. Some very generous dig hosts gave iziz and Shu iron shovels! Thank you Nikojin and Bellamoon! Shu also picked up his Lily:Crown and placed it with the others at FreeBee house.

1/19/2009 Kalateth, iziz and Shu had another building party. 6 Kitchens were built and food chests set up! Kalateth completed Principles of the Obelisk for another level. WTG Kala! Then Shu braved the rigors of the desert and the unknown skill of dowsing. Surprise! Shu came up winners with TWO mines! One is Iron/Quartz and the other is Iron/Ruby!

1/17/2009 Shu and iziz helped Alexios get zapped! We cheered on Alex as he did the Plant ID run and then a second time as Pacer signed his Harmony Init! Lightening on a Clear Day! Woot! All bee hives now have Queen Bees and are producing honey and beeswax! Latter in the day Shu went to an acro party and got a new move: Toe Touches!

1/16/2009 Shu and iziz did some more grinding at the Limestone Pits and got enough materials to fire up the Glazier's Bench (Soda Glass)! Glass Knives where made for iziz, Kalateth and Shu! 4 Queen Bees have moved in to the bee hives and we got our first harvest of honey and beeswax!

1/15/2009 iziz and Shu had a building party in the metalshop. Glazier's Benches, Forges and Casting Box where installed. 5 Beehives were built near the sheep pens too! iziz and Shu did some grinding at the limestone pits - Shu discovered if you let the END timer go completely black before clicking the icon the flint tools last a long time: 100 limestone on 2 flint chisles. As a nice touch 2 Queen Bees have moved into our hives!

1/14/2009 Whew! A new sheep pen now stands next to the orginal sheep pen! A breeding pair of sheep were introduced and some nice juicy onions were added to the feed bin. Plus 2 more firepits were added making a total of 6 firepits now!

1/12/2009 Shu, Kalateth and iziz had a Machine-Building Party at the Brix CP. A bit of manoeuvering and we got a nice efficient setup for making bricks, jugs, firebricks and boards. A great time was had by all!

1/11/2009 Shu attended a great acro party in Shabbat Ab (U Art field). Got tons of facets! And a special note goes to Kalateth who showed me how to acro and got my first facet taught at the same time!

1/10/2009 Shu and iziz made great progress towards getting a mine. First thing you need, is to be able to grill foods. 4 firepits were built - way way off in the desert. We tried to put them were any pollution would not cause problems for our neighbors. However, you never know what Teppy might come up with about this pollution thing. And of course, this presumes our neighbors are looking out for us too! <would be nice> We got our firebrick leg up from the generous folks at the Egyptian Life Workshops (Thank you Lill and Pacer). This allowed us to build some kilns of our own.

1/9/2009 Shu and iziz finished their Tech-Walkabout. Shu expanded the BrickHouse - making room for some kilns.

1/8/2009 Shu and iziz got our pre-paid sheep - leather is near!! Kalateth joined iziz and Shu for a brick and board party. We built more distaffs in the flax workshop and a few more chests to hold our combined loots :) Shu, Kalateth and iziz are doing a Tech-WalkAbout in Saqqarah - here's hoping that we get lots of new stuff!

1/4/2009 Whew! Shu and iziz did a skill run - now we're all hot and sweaty <G>. But we got some of the basic skills: knives, fishing, ferry, firebuilding etc. iziz and Shu built ferries on the pond - love to ride that ferry!

1/2/2009 Busy day in Egypt! Completed construction of our first sheep pen and put our first sheep in it! Made about 120 jugs and fired them at the EL Workshops - nice to get a leg up on the onion grind <G>. Shu and iziz went to our first dig and got some medium stones and cuttables! woot woot -> more machines to make <G>! Picked up some more seeds and a Lily-of-the-Sea (Vampire) while traveling too. Got Splash trained to hang around the front door at Shu's House too. And Shu got a zap too!
