Proposal – ATITD Olympics

Concept: Over the Easter Long Weekend Egyptians are invited to join in a range of player events and activities. Timing would need to be discussed.

[I am planning on covering most of the prizes, but may need some assistance, depending on numbers. And, of course, people can supplement or suggest other things that they think would be more appropriate. In all instances I’ve assumed around 40 participants to estimate the total materials required to cover the participation prizes]

HUNT: Be the first to find and post a notification – otter, rat, ibis, gazelle over a 24 hr period. Finds are to be posted to L2PBS as a screenshot with visible date/time, loc and show character and the animal in the shot. Animal doesn't need to be captured or tagged. Participation means depositing a personal chit in a basket placed in a marked location in the player field at Memphis, or entry on the wiki page.

Prizes:

  • Otter. 1 Pepper Seed, 1 Eggplant Seed, 1 Cucumber Seed
  • Rat. 250 cobra skins
  • Ibis. Glasshouse kit
  • Gazelle. 4 OSM

Participation: 50 leeks

COMPETE: Conflict Shrine Events – Sevenblade, Reflection, whatever else is working. Practice round, then 2 rounds of events, because of timezone differences. (Would need someone to set up)

Prizes:

  • 1 Thunderblade 9k
  • 2 Vorpal Sword 10k
  • 3 Shovel 9k
  • Participation Prize: 50 sulphur, 50 cut stone

CREATE: Construct a sculpture in the marker are near the player field during the construction time - your choice of materials and number of objects. The sculpture theme is “Egyptian Life”.

Prizes:

  • 1 50 Octecs Alloy
  • 2 50 Thoths Metal
  • 3 50 Blue Metal
  • Participation Prize 20 gold, 20 silver

RACE: Foot and airship races similar to previous player field events – but maybe round robin SCHU vs SETESH. SCHU’s team change clothing to reddish and SETESH to bluish, just for fun. Deposit chits in the WHs to enable monitoring of outcomes PLUS ‘Ruby-food’ to equalise speed/dex.

Prizes:

  • 1. Camp Decoration – Statue of Set (might depend on what Nikara can do)
  • 2. Large Ferry Kit
  • 3. Beer Kettle Kit
  • Participation Prize: something interesting (still thinking)

RAMBLE: Players converge at start point (base camp TBA) prior to event start time to receive initial clue and receive a competitors ribbon. The initial clue gives the directions to the next clue point, which will be a signpost with confirmation and directions to the next hidden clue, At each signpost is a basket, where players deposit a chit to indicate they have arrived. There will be 7 clues to decipher, the last clue returns players to the start point, a bit like a venery. All locations are within 700 clicks of the start point. Ideally everyone should return to base camp before the ribbons vanish (1 hour). This will need some set up, but shouldn’t be too hard.

Prizes (depending on how many stations completed):

  • 7 5 x Rare insect lure
  • 6 5 x cuttable stones (amethyst, ruby, citrine, sunstone, jade, lapis)
  • 5 3 x Sandbloom (all different)
  • 4 3 x Rose (all different)
  • 3 3 x Orchid (all different)
  • 2 3 x Sea lilies (all different)
  • 1 250 Sticky Sun Fertiliser
  • Participation Prizes: 20 cuttable stones, 10 medium stones
