Introduction
While I don't consider myself a glassblower by trade, I am making efforts to learn so as to fill some of the gaps in blown-glass availability. The prices below may not be the cheapest you've ever seen but they are going directly to supply me with more materials with which to learn.
The most inexpensive payment for my glass products is the glass I make them out of. The further down the supply chain toward the raw ingredients you get the more you'll be paying. Turning raw materials into finished blown glass products is extremely time-consuming and tedious. I'd much rather be continuing to practice making wine glasses than growing leeks and papy, then babysitting the crematory, and the kettles, and the glass benches.
Though I've never met her, I am grateful to Avanya for her glass blowing tutorials and videos. (Now if only she had done a video for wine glasses!) Credit to her for parts of this page as well.
