Guilds/Stranger Science/Natural Motion
A Conversation on the Laws of Natural and Violent Motion
Year 4 Peret-IV 23 7:00pm
thestranger has joined the guild.
thestranger has changed rank and become an Initiate.
thestranger: As a guild was created for helping his, uhum, my needs, We decided to join for a better communication
Windsong: yay
Windsong: welcome
Windsong: It's about time :)
thestranger:] As much as we enjoy your company in camp, I understand that not everyone can make it every time.
Windsong: The exercise of running to Memphis is good for our health
thestranger: My herb list might be shorter than what type of herbs grow in egypt today
thestranger: My list consists of 172 herbs
thestranger: 171, excuse me
thestranger: http://www.atitd.org/wiki/tale2/ForagingTechniques
thestranger: is the list I will go by
Windsong: Thank you for the clarification
thestranger: and I will accept 7 of a herb for 7 herb's of your choice
Basilius: yay! that was my intent in the first place. Building the guild hall by the chariots was to make it easier for other egyptians to join us, and I didn't want to pollute your camp
thestranger: Anyone familiar with the natural laws of motion?
Basilius: A body at rest will . . . get fat?
Basilius: tend to stay at rest unless acted upon by an outside force . .. that set?
thestranger: There are 4 elements, Earth water air and fire
thestranger: If an object contains more earth and water elements than air and/or fire it will fall
thestranger: if an object contains more air and fire elements then it will rise
thestranger: If an object rises but contains mostly earth or water elements then it is not a natural motion, thus it is a violent motion
thestranger: understanding natural motion is key to unlocking alchemy as we can add or subtract elements from a given object to turn it into something else
Basilius: So if an object contains more total (air and fire) than the total (water and earth), but the individual earth is more than either the air or fire it is violent .. . Did I understand that correctly?
thestranger: you did not
thestranger: if an object that contains more air/fire falls. it is a violent motion because it is going agianst the natural motion laws
Basilius: so if it's more earth but rises anyways . . .
thestranger: objects that rise with more earth/water is also violent
thestranger: and any movement side to side is violent
thestranger: a meteor falling is natural movement because it contains more earth elements than fire
thestranger: but a rock flying out of a volcano is violent
thestranger: We have only seen 2 things that contain more air/fire elements than earth/water
thestranger: on new years there were fireworks, and airships
Basilius: I guess that makes sense, things that naturally rise would leave egypt for the sky never to be seen
thestranger I will leave you with that.
Basilius: Thank you, both for the clarity on herbs, and the lessons on natural law.
Basilius: Moon, Stars, Sun, and Water . . . .Earth, Air, Fire, Water? Do they equate?
Basilius: So are we seeking things in balance?
Basilius: Or are we seeking violence?
