how I make CharCoal in an Oven:
have about 100 water in jugs and as much wood as you feel comfortable carrying, even pinning yourself, if you have no need to move.
1) Click BEGIN and then click on Add Wood three times
this should move the Wood bar to the right of the Oxygen bar in a second or two
2) constantly watch the Wood bar and when it gets even with or below (to the left of) the Oxygen bar, quickly add 1 wood.
This does not always make the wood bar move to the right, as the oven may use wood just as you add it, so you may need to quickly add another wood. You want the Wood bar just beyond (to the right of) the Oxygen bar but NOT too far or you get a run away condition in the oven.
Meanwhile, watch for the Danger bar to get even with the "t" or "r" of "control" and then add 1 Water. Water is the oven's regulator. You should notice both the Heat and Danger bars moving to the left, once they start doing this, you should almost always add 1 wood but not always. Look at the difference between the Wood and Oxygen bars and make a judgment call whether to add wood or not. Remember, you only want the Wood bar slightly above the oxygen bar! If they barely move, wait a second or two until they begin moving towards the left, then add the wood.
NOTE: Keep an eye on the water bar and once it gets to a sliver of color, add another water, preferably when the Danger bar is above the half way mark or moving to the right.
3) as soon as you get a green finished bar, add at least 2 water. Observe the Danger bar!!! It should start moving left, if so open the Oxygen Vent (rightmost button).
Caution: occasionally, the danger bar moves to the right and if so add 2 more water to stop this and shut down more quickly or if water is easy to add to the empty jugs, you can toss on as much as you wish and things will shut down quite quickly.
Caveat #1 : upon occasion, your client and the server are just so out of synch, that you keep failing to control things adequately to be successful. It happens to everyone!!! Just wait until your FPS (Frames Per Second) improves, to try again.
Caveat #2 : occasionally the Oxygen drops too low and the fire gets snuffed out. You get 200 wood back but all those added wood are lost. Once you get good at monitoring all those bars, you might be able to catch the low Oxygen level in time to click the right Vent button and add more Oxygen to recover. However, you only want to do this for a second or two or you will flood the oven with Oxygen and the recovery operations will be a challenge.
Caveat #3 : expect to fail a number of times until you get the hang on it. If you cannot concentrate on monitoring the bars and add the wood and the water at the appropriate times, it will be difficult to succeed.
