Demi-Pharaoh

As a player since Tale 2, I have seen many players come and go. The reasons for their going have been varied, but the ones that stick with me the most are the complaints of drama (intraguild, intrapersonal, what have you). I have sometimes been the mediator in the squabbles, and have been able to help both sides come to an agreement, when asked to mediate.

I have also grown to understand people better in playing many MMOs (including Egypt). I have learned there are many kinds of people, especially those that try to become Demi-Pharaoh. Players do the Test of the Demi-Pharaoh for many reasons, anywhere from gaining a level from the Principle, to the noble pursuit of governance. My interest goes beyond a leveler, and has grown to the idea of governance. I have known many Demi-Pharaohs in the time I have played, and hope I am worthy to follow in their footsteps.

Regarding the inevitable question of the "Ban," I have always held that the power held by the Demi-Pharaohs to ban players is a very powerful tool. It is one that should be used in moderation, and only after a reasonable attempt is made at a peaceful solution (reasonable attempt at a peaceful solution being preferable to a knee-jerk reaction that might be unfounded when the facts are laid out). I believe the ban can also be useful if the game world at large is in danger (for example, if a player is found to be a griefer at large and willing to tear the fabric of the world we play in asunder), if a weighted, quick answer is indeed needed. These types of players are in many places, and i would hate to see one make the world we have created as a playerbase disappear because of it.

I hope that the Demi-Pharaoh's job does not come to that, but I know there is the possibility that it will. If elected Demi-Pharaoh, and it comes to me to do, I can take the blame and live with it, so long as the players are happy with my decision. Isn't that, in essence, the job of a governing Demi-Pharaoh? Love the people, help them toward their goals through governance, and as a council keep the wheels of the world moving smoothly?

That is what I believe, and that is how I will comport myself if elected.
