Originally from the Bastet server, I transfered to Tale 5 only a few months ago with some friends. (Now we form the Bastet Hounds Guild). My primary passion in Egypt is glassblowing and glassmaking. I also enjoy the Test of Pyrotechnics, Thought puzzles, and crossbreeding flowers. I am always open to helping people in any way that I can, so please chat me anytime. Star Labs
I am hoping to help Egypt make better use of its Portable Star Labs. I see so many of them laying around unused, or used as decorations. They are meant to be used and returned to a university of Art (preferably Sterope). I have a Law Petition circulating to help us use them more effectively. Mutagenics Research
I am trying to help characterize the mutagens that are being researched. Specially, I'm trying to determine which gene ranges are swapped from the left and right splints. I won't bore you here with genetics theory, it is all explained much more clearly elsewhere on the wiki. But I would like to make my data available to others that share this interest.
This is my first time doing this, so PLEASE chat me if you think I am doing something wrong. Right now, our guru's of genetics are not playing, so I don't have a good source to verify this with. I welcome all input!!

TEST 1: Nile Green / Nile Green Unmutated Genome:

- Left splint: Silken Genome: KRRROOOYYYGGGUUUIIIK
- left target 72.222%-75.962% is 13/18 gene --> 1st U.
- Right splint: Clarity Genome: KIRIRIOIOIYIY(GORR)GRORGRRO(GORR)GRORGRROK
- right target 42.593%-46.296% is 16/36 gene --> 2nd R in the first cyan gene set (GORR)
- resultant right genome: KIRIRIOIOIYIY(GORR)GRORGRRO(GORU)GRORGRROK
- we know now what left genome is, since it's U was replaced with an R from Clarity:
- resultant left genome: KRRROOOYYYGGGRUUIIIK
These results are compatible with observations!! (not confirmed with solvents, just observation and TEST 1 results)

- gene range is 20.5/27 to 21.5/27 or 75.926% to 79.630%
TEST 2: Fracture / Crown (Ava 43,44)
- phenotypes: Fracture became giant, colors unchanged. Crown petals went from red to magenta
- Left splint: Fracture: K(ROYG)(ROY(G)YOR)GOR(GOOO)K
- Test 1 predicts the 1st Y in the "ROYGYOR" set will be swapped. if so, it should be a 1 giant + 1 dwarf = small size.
- observed: its a giant. no color changes
To be a size 1 giant, the both 1 giant and 1 dwarf gene must have been disabled. This would be accomplished if the shared "G" were swapped. This is just outside the predicted range of TEST 1. Perhaps I am not rounding out enough?
- Right splint: Crown: K(UROO)(UROO)(UROO)VURVOOVURVORV(UROR)(UROR)(UROR)K
- Test 1 predicts that gene 29 will swap. (2nd R in the first (UROR) set. If so, a yellow gene will be broken.
- observed: the petals are more magenta colored than red. This is consistent w/ above prediction. It could also be a gene before or after this one that moved, and give the same results, so the exact gene position isn't certain w/o solvent testing.
Hypothesized Ava 43 genome:
- K(ROYG)ROY(RO)YORGOR(GOOO)K
gene 8/18 targeted. 7.5/18 to 8.5/18 range is 41.667% to 47.222% for left splint target
Range overlap is 41.667% to 42.593%.
Hypothesized Ava 44 genome:
- K(UROO)(UROO)(UROO)VURVOOVURVORV(UROG)(UROR)(UROR)K
no further range refinement possible w/o solvent testing.

Left splint was affected in ROY sequence (which is required to harvest flax, see flax genome theories for more info). However, it was not a *(RO) that was changed, or the seed count would have gone down. Furthermore, we need a new OR gene, to account for the 1 less weed step.
- looks like the 2nd to last Y should be switched to a R. ... YYRG(RO)RY(OR)RK. This would add (OR) and removed the (ROY).
Solvents on Left Splint showed:

- ROR <-- that pinpoints it as the gene we suspected.
- the 22nd gene, Y, is replaced with an R
- gene range is 21.5/27 to 22.5/27 or 83.333% to 87.037%

Left splint was affected in (GYGYGY) gene, specifically in the middle GY genes. This breaks up both Flax genes (GYGY) as well as the water gene (GYGYGY), which would account for our observations.

Right splint had a -1 weed gene broken (OR). From above, we know it was the R that was swapped with a Y from the Left splint. Just have to identify which of the three (OR) genes was broken. Solvents on Right Splint showed:

- Stragety: Add cyan to one set of inner petals on Morning, then break one of the two yellow genes for that same set. This will turn that inner set of petals green. The outer two sets of petals are already green, so that will be 3/4 green.

Right splint had first gene broken, UROO (magenta inner petals) --> IROO (junk). inner petal set now 3 yellow shades + 2 magenta shades = red + red + yellow, or a dark orange
CROSS 2: Ava45 / Blush with Fuzzy, Hairy, Spongy (Tay 06)
- aiming to break up a (UYYY) inner yellow gene on Ava 45
Mutation should swap gene 18/44 (Y) on Ava 45 with gene 10/26 (V) blush. Unmutated Ava 45: K(URRR)(IYYY)(IYYY)(UYYY)(UYYY)(UROR)(UROR)(GRRR)(GYYY)(GORR)(GRRO)K Unmutated Blush: K(GROR)V(GOOO)V(UROO)V(IO)V(IOO)V(IOOO)K
Ava 47 / 48 resulted. Observed: left splint (Ava47) does have predicted colors. Green on outside petal sets. one green and one yellow inner petal sets. right splint (Ava48): colors appear to be blush. No observed change.
Hypothesized Ava 47 genome:
