Statement concerning the recent Bans
People of Egypt,
There has been much talk and speculation recently about my decision to ban some players from Egypt and I feel I should give my side of the story.
So, to address the issue at hand let me first explain WHY I decided to ban these players, before moving on the issue of the manner in which I did it.
These players had, it is true, committed "offences" against me and I have no doubt in my mind, having gotten to know them as I have, that they would have gone on to commit similar offences against others, allowing them to put much effort into things before then taking all the credit and all of the mats/buildings for themselves.
I was in the guild "Kamilahs and our Place", from the very early days of T5 and, as Akilla will testify, I put the majority of effort into building that guild up into what it is now.
The people in question then started to reassign the warehouses belonging to the guild to themselves. When I asked what was happening I got told "If you don't like it find another guild".
Despite being an elder in the guild, I was powerless to prevent this happening and taking mats/warehouses from a guild into personal ownership without all Elders' consent is pure theft.
Myself and the other elders argued about this for some time and in the end the matter caused me much upset and distress I actually quit the game for a couple of days before calming down and returning to the game.
Upon my return I found that I had been booted from the guild (a move which, in my opinion, should maybe have been taken after someone had quit for longer than a couple of days, but that is just my opinion).
During conversations with these people it became clear to me that reapplying to join the guild was a pointless matter because they would not allow me back in.
I gave this matter much consideration and did not just react out of revenge, or commit a "knee jerk reaction". I discussed the matter with many people, some of whom had been DPs in the past and were highly regarded as such, before taking the decision to ban these players
My mistake in this matter was to not involve the other active DPs, murtha and Lill, and for that I apologise, as I have done to them.
Only in extreme matters would I ever consider banning a player without first seeking counsel from my fellow DPs and, please, let me assure you ALL that I will not be going on to ban any other players, whether directly connected to the banned players or not. There would be no revenge bans.
I am aware that the nature in which I carried out the duties of my Office as a DP has caused consternation and upset amongst many quarters of Egypt and please be assured, that was not my intention.
I can be a Good, Fair and knowledgeable DP and all I ask for is the chance to do so.
