Preservation iss a legacy skill that was introduced during T5 that allows food cooked in a Kitchen to be bagged so that it may be carried in a players inventory.

Preservation is available from any School of Worship and costs 50 Papyrus Paper to learn

A meal may be either be bagged (costing 1 Papyrus Paper per serving) or boxed ( one Jug and one Bottle Stopper).

A bagged meal will remain fresh for 4 teppy-hours, a boxed meal will remain fresh for 24 teppy-hours.

Note that if you are pinned when consuming a preserved meal you may not automatically become unpinned. If this happens, drop 1 item and pick it back up.

Note : I used two different box lunches today and both lost a significant amount of stats vs what was in the cooking pot. One went from 19 dex to 15 dex, the other went from 20 perc to 15 perc. I wanted to chalk it up to maybe cooking was tweaked with the dex food and the transfer refreshed the stats, but then the perception recipe was recently made.- Phaia
