Bazaar
NOTE: This is currently under discussion by Bazaar staff. This document is not yet considered complete.
Bazaar is a Microphone (Egypt-wide moderated chat channel) dedicated to trade and announcements.
Principles
Bazaar is founded on the principle that trade should be open and free, and that the administration of a public trade channel should be free of personal politics. Because of this, it should be noted that the posting of a message to Bazaar (for example, Real Money Trades) does not indicate endorsement by Bazaar or any of its moderators or owners.
Guidelines
While there are few hard rules, here are a few guidelines for using Bazaar:
- Keep chatter to a minimum. A little levity is fine, but please keep general conversation to a minimum to avoid scrolling back the other posts too much.
- Keep announcements to items of Egypt-wide interest. In particular, two types of posts that will not be allowed are cicada cage locations and personal art/thought building advertisements.
- Be careful of spamming. Before repeating a trade request or announcement, check to see if your previous post is still only a few lines back.
- Negotiate privately. If you see a trade you're interested in, please chat the trader directly to discuss the trade.
- Be respectful. Don't criticize others' trade requests. Either chat them to discuss it if you really disagree with it, or make a better offer.
Moderators are given a great deal of latitude in how they choose to handle the channel. If you have a problem with how a moderator handles a particular situation, please contact a Bazaar Elder (/info bazaar mods).
