A tool is a resource that allows you to perform certain actions (via Action Icons or your Skills menu) that you could not do, if you did not have it in your possession.
A tool is generally not used up in the process, though many can break.
Blacksmithing Tools
Allows the working of metals on an Anvil.
- Requires Advanced Blacksmithing to create (can be used without the tech).
- Created in a Casting Box. Each tool takes 5 minutes to cool.
- Ball Peen Hammer
- Round Hammer
- Shaping Mallet
- Wide Tungsten Chisel
Dowsing Rod
Allows you to prospect for ore.
- Requires Dowsing
- Self > Skills > Assemble...
- 8 Cactus Sap, 1 Sharpened Stick
Fishing Poles
Allows you to fish when you are near water.
- Requires Fishing
- Self > Skills > Assemble...
- Basic Fishing Pole
- 25 Twine, 1 Sharpened Stick
Hatchet
Allows you to gather extra wood when you harvest wood from a tree. Hatchet needs to be 3k quality or higher to get the bonus of getting extra wood. Anything lower than 3k quality doesn't do anything.
Incense Prong
Used to add Herbs, Resin and Rose Petals to Incense in a Scent Lab.
- Requires Aromatics to craft and to use.
- Created in a Casting Box from 1 Pewter.
Knives
A variety of knives, along with the Carving skill, allow you to create a number of objects from wood.
- Self > Skills > Carving > Knives...
- Knife:Flint (quality 1)
- Knife:Glass (quality 2)
- 1 Glass Blade and 4 Rawhide Strip
- Requires Carving (Second Degree)
- Knife:Iron (quality 3)
- 1 Knife Blade, 1 Crudely Carved Handle, 2 Wooden Pegs
- Requires Carving (Second Degree)
- Knife:Sharp (quality 4)
- 1 Sharp Edged Knife Blade of at least 8500 quality, 1 Crudely Carved Handle, 4 Rawhide Strip, 2 Wooden Peg
- Requires Carving (Third Degree)
- Knife:Jagged (quality 5?)
- 1 Jagged Knife Blade of at least 9000 quality, 1 Intricately Carved Handle, 2 Bolts and 4 Rawhide Strip
- Requires Carving (Fourth Degree)
Limestone Tools
To harvest Limestone, you must have both a hammer and a chisel. Mixing types (i.e. flint with lead) will increase the likelihood that the flint item will break.
- Requires Stonemasonry

- Self > Skills > Assemble...
- Will break after some number of uses.
- Heavy Mallet
- 1 Heavy Mallet Head, 1 Large Crude Handle, 1 Wooden Peg
- Assembled at a Carpentry Shop
- Yields 3 Limestone per pull when used with a Lead Chisel.
- Lead Chisel
- Created on a Forge from 2 Lead.
- Will eventually break, but not as quickly as a Flint Chisel.
Resin Wedges
Allows you to nick trees to generate resin.

Scythe & Basket
A scythe and a papyrus Basket, when used with the Rhythmic Strength skill, allow you to pick grass faster.
- Requires Rhythmic Strength
- Assembled on a Carpentry Shop.
- Slate Scythe
- 1 Stone Blade, 2 Boards
- Glass Scythe
- 1 Glass Blade, 1 Crudely Carved Handle and 2 Twine
Shovels
Allows you to dig up dirt, as well as dig for cuttable stones and medium stones.
- Slate Shovel
- 1 Stone Blades, 2 Boards
- Will break after some number of uses.
- Assembled at a Carpentry Shop.
- Iron Shovel
- 1 Shovel Blade and 4 Boards
- Assembled at a Carpentry Shop upgraded with a Vice Bench.
